I recently moved out of Topanga California area, which is spitting distance to studios like Riot, Santa Monica, Atari, Naughty Dog, etc etc. I work in the event coordination business, and as such did a lot of work for gaming studios (and Hollywood), so I made some friends. It was easy to make close relationships with people when you each become aware the other is like minded in a place where those mindsets can see you unemployed. Long story short, I hear things. Currently, every game in most major studios that's early enough in development to rework itself to remove overt identity politics and heavy handed ideological messaging are doing so. As I said, it'll take awhile because games take a long time to make, but we'll slowly see a decrease in games like Veilguard and Concord over the next few years, and an increase in games like Space Marine 2, Helldivers, etc. In other words, games gamers like with big, tough male protagonists and attractive female protagonists, and little if any of a particular ideology.
