AACK! I accidentally bought a gallon of Amaco Chun Plum Glaze... What did I learn? There's a huge savings if you buy it buy the gallon, but also OMG! It was a big chunk of cash to fork over in the first place!! But no regrets. I think you'll appreciate all the random stuff I talk about in this video. I need you here to keep me on task and keep me from being lonely as I make my pottery. I have some big plans and I hope to have some news for you in the coming weeks. I am super hard trying to not jinx it by wanting it to much! I hope you are well and I hope you leave comments because I love making pottery friends and contacts all over the world.
Here's my website that I would love for you to visit: tinychickpotte...
You can check out my pottery glazed in various Amaco Potter's Choice glaze combinations and also I have lots of pottery examples using Amaco Velvet Underglazes and coated always 3 coats of Amaco Zinc Free Clear or Mayco SW-004 Clear (which are very similar.) Seeing as clear glaze has been hard to come by I think that might be helpful information. Also - Dang, have you seen how hard it is to get Obsidian and Smoky Merlot glaze? I blame my video that got 35,000 views and the gorgeous examples of pottery pictures that I posted in the thumbnail pics. Y'all went out there and bought it all up!
Other Info: I fire to Cone 5 with a 10 minute hold, typically. I am now using BMix 5 ( I think it's made by Laguna). I use a Shimpo Whisper Pottery wheel and a TINY Paragon Kiln

I love wabi sabi pots. Some potters won't sell items if they aren't up to their high standards, but I prefer to have flaws in a piece and feel the artist in the piece. Speaking of that, Julie I use the Dream Girl mug I purchased from you daily and it makes an appearance in so many of my TikTok videos! I just love it, it really is the only mug I use these days. I just accepted my first custom order yesterday on Etsy for salad servers (spoon & fork.) I'm nervous, and a bit intimidated, but also excited that someone entrusted me with building a piece for them out of all the tens of thousands of potters on Etsy. She wants the pieces to match a platter set that she had of her Mother's. I told her there was a nonrefundable $20 production fee and she must purchase the item before production started. I also don't accept returns or refunds unless the piece arrives damaged and contacted same day with photo proof.

The life hack with counting the coats absolutely great! I have a hard time to remember…2,3, maybe 4..😅I wish I could see an other video, where you put the other glazes on. I just ordered some Amaco highfires, trying to collect “knowledge”:) thank you for sharing!

I quit doing any pottery commissions years ago. I found that seldom did what I thought the client wanted and what they wanted matched. I quit making anything in pottery I didn’t like. That way if I was stuck with something that didn’t sell it was something I liked. Would be interested to see your controlled flop method.

That’s a great video topic! I’m pretty sure I showed it in a video but it should be it’s own topic! Thanks so much for the great suggestion!
