Can you cover the green wear with an underglaze coat of color and then put a transfer over that after it dries?
@AMACOBrent3 жыл бұрын
Hi there, yes you can but we recommend creating a test tile first to ensure you are getting the result you want :)

If i hand paint with velvet underglaze, does it need to be applpied 3 times?
@AMACOBrent4 жыл бұрын
It can depend on the color but generally yes to ensure the pigment will be vivid enough. We recommend hand painting on test tiles to find out how many coats of velvet underglaze work best for your art.

can this be done on bisque ware? If i were to put a solid base layer of a different underglaze color down, could this technique be done on top of it?
@AMACOBrent5 жыл бұрын
It should work on bisqueware; however, the results might not be as crisp. As for putting it on top of an underglaze, you should be able to do that as well; however, I would test your combos before you put it on a finished ware.

Since you drew on the paper...wouldn't it have been just as easy to draw on the clay piece instead of transferring?
@AMACOBrent5 жыл бұрын
It's all about the effect you want. Transferring an underglaze design can give you a more inlay effect as opposed to drawing directly on the piece. When you draw on a piece the underglaze is more likely to have a raised edge if you're applying it from a slip trailer. We just like to show the many different ways you can use our underglaze. 🤗

I'm not seeing a No. 11 white underglaze on your website. It really doesn't look like the image was transferred onto any other glaze; it looks like it went directly on to greenware. Also, the finished piece looks as though it has color to it, as though it was glazed after the bisque fire.

pottery59 hey, sorry for the confusion but No. 11 is the clay that the cylinder is made from.

My fault. I didn't click on 'show more!' haha. Sorry about that.
