Was there just a few years ago. We had a car but on seeing the dents in all the other cars, decided to take the bus to Positano. Bus was late, and full. "Come on board" he said. So pressed up against the front window, we set off, leaving florist shop displays and bits of the corners of buildings in our wake. 15 mins later after a hair-raising ride, we arrived in Positano. We opted to get a taxi back :-) Nice to see some familiar sights again, and I think your coverage was superb. Although, we opted for Herculaneum rather than Pompeii after weighing up the pros and cons of both.

Oh the memories of Pompeii, Sorrento and it's surrounding areas all came flooding back. I loved Pompeii and there is so much history still being discovered and being uncovered. I went in the October some years ago now and it was still hot! I love Dame Mary Beard who is a professor of Classics and a Scholar of Ancient Rome, she did a TV series on Pompeii which was fascinating. I totally get your love of pizza too, there is pizza and then there is PIZZA. As a veggie I loved the food in Italy, I once in my broken Italian informed the waiter I was vegetarian, to which his reply was' I also vegetarian, I used to be cannibal' to which many heads suddenly snapped round and my face was a picture as I enquired 'Do you mean carnivore?' Luckily it was the latter as I didn't fancy being on the menu any time soon...with or without the Fava beans!! Thanks for a lovely video Gemma and Campbell, the Amalfi still looks as beautiful as it was.

Bonsoir from the Loire valley in France, just loved your vlog guys, intact all of your videos are great ! Yes I've been to the Amalfi coast, it's beautiful and picturesque, my best memory was being in Amalfi on Easter/palm Sunday as the Church emptied out after service and all of the locals with palm leaves heading for the bars for a coffee or wine ! Looking forward to your next destination ! Lots of love from Mark n Alison n Olive the Breton Spaniel xx

Amalfi looks stunning and Amazing views. Good food and lemoncello definitely worth a visit. Madeira is beautiful with lots of levada walks and waterfalls. Delicious food and not forgetting madeira wine and the local drink poncho. Friendly people and good value for money. Cable cars to botanical and Japanese gardens followed by a ride down on their traditional sledge. Yes I've done it all went twice. You may have already visited but if not you should consider. ❤

Nope never been to Amalfi. Some of those prices...yikes outrageous. But cannot argue with the views. What a wicked storm that must've been! The wild weather nerd in me would be glued to the window for sure...but lol as that lightning gets closer.. I find myself distancing from that window. ( wish it could rain across the rest of Europe to maybe douse all those wildfires and cut off the heat!) So the volcano that buried Pompeii is Mt Vesuvius right? So fascinating indeed. Awesome guys. And VERY COOL about the announcement!!😁

The Amalfi Coast is lovely and I would say that Pompeii is a must see for anyone who visits Italy. But I think you did it the right way in not staying in Amalfi or Positano, places I consider 'tourist hell'!! Especially in the summer months, there are other lovely coastal areas in Italy, even going down further south to Calabria where you still get mountains and coastal beach towns. (At a fraction of the cost!)
@highlands2hammocks2 жыл бұрын
Definitely! It was such a fascinating place to visit 😁 yeah we didnt manage to explore the towns closwer to Salerno due to the lack of time, but it would be amazing to go back again one day
