I can't think of any woman who has the intriguing mix of vulnerability, beauty and underlying fierceness Amanda possesses. Her song writing, singing and playing are beautiful, but I'm utterly fascinated with the complexity of her personality. She's a definite one of a kind.
@victoredwards05304 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right in that assessment, Scott. She seems so vulnerable, then so strong and "fierce," as you suggest. In any case, she is a supreme talent, likely better than Jason. But she is also a mother and partner, the strong part. She is complex and one of a kind, as you say.

That fiddle solo in the train song (10:17) is amazing. It ends in a locomotive shriek that she silences by singing the next verse. Crazy good acoustic moment.

Amanda is a wonderful artist Her writing is very interesting, thoughtful and beautiful - her voice has a halting and vulnerable quality that draws you in and is wonderfully fascinating Her albums full of magic and 'when you need a train ...' is a brilliant song

I really want to like Amanda Shires, and keep trying. She's a fantastic musician and very good singer. I just don't hear songs when I hear her solo stuff. It's a lot of strumming and singing with no melodies or hooks, and instrumental playing that doesn't advance in any particular direction. When it's over, I can't remember it. I guess I just don't get her.
