One of the most amazingly unpredictable and strangely intimate songwriters on the scene currently. Bravo Mrs. Shires.

Looked her up because of the Highwomen cover of "The Chain" on Howard Stern and I liked her voice and violin playing. I am BLOWN. AWAY. This is spectacular.

I was thinking of a Cranberries Dolores O'Riordan vibe too. Love Amanda's voice. Recently discovered her through The Highwomen's cover of The Chain on Howard Stern.

Saw her at the Black Deer Festival in Kent (UK) Mesmerising from the first note. Phenomenal voice, stage-presence and grace. The fact that such extraordinary talents as Amanda Shires and Morgan James are passed over by the big labels in favour of auto-tuned, 5 minute wonders is criminal but does nothing to diminish their star quality.

I was just about to remark about how I hear Leonard's influence in this piece and how proud he would be. Prine too, of course....but this just has the delicious feel of a Leonard Cohen piece made perfect by Amanda's style, grace, and overall badassery.

Nature is surely a language for the most important literacy. The body language is overt here just before the solo .... moving toward the guitarist and closing herself up. solo....SOLO...... I can here her. Loud and clear. Beyond and within the song. Would love to talk with her . Even for just a short while. Stay strong Amanda.

This is a very nice video and her voice and singing style is very unique. Is there some symbolism or meaning to the chair sitting part at the end? It seems kind of deliberate and with a purpose..just wondering if there was more to it.
