Good afternoon, I loved your video I have a question is it still three rows for color b if you make the blanket bigger??
@AmandaCrochets3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, if you make the blanket bigger, you will follow the same pattern. You'll just have more stripe sections if you decide to make this blanket longer.
@zoevalencia66703 жыл бұрын
@@AmandaCrochets oh ok thank you so I would make the black longer
@AmandaCrochets3 жыл бұрын
Whether you’re making the blanket wider or longer the pattern remains the same. You’ll just be changing the number of chains you make at the beginning if you decide to make the blanket wider.

I was successful making a baby blanket using this BEAUTIFUL pattern, so thank you for sharing this pattern!! I was wondering if I could use this pattern to make a scarf for my 9 year old grandson. If not, do you have a HP theme scarf pattern? Again,THANK YOU for sharing your beautiful video tutorials!😊
@vickyg10214 ай бұрын
An addendum.. Just curious… would it be possible to make the body of the pattern (main color) using a HDC and for the second color, use a V stitch , alternating using the HDC when returning to the main color. Since it is a gift for my grandson and my name begins with a V, this way he would see a V and remember that I made it for him. Just a thought.
@AmandaCrochets4 ай бұрын
You can change up the stitches as you choose. I think that would be a wonderful idea and a great reminder for him. How sweet!

Also, would it be possible to show the completed blanket including the edges . Thank you
@AmandaCrochets2 жыл бұрын
It’s possible you’re not working in the right stitches for the beginning. I highly suggest using stitch markers to mark the very first and very last stitches of each row. I have this blog post showing the completed blanket. Hopefully it helps a little. www.amandacrochets.com/harry-potter-thick-stripes-blanket/

Thank you for responding so quickly. I have used your tips and suggestions with success! Now, would it be possible to provide a nice solid boarder pattern. I would like to mix both colors to coordinate the colors around the blanket. I think that would provide a nice finish. Thank you for your help!
@AmandaCrochets2 жыл бұрын
@@vickyg1021 you’re welcome! As far as a solid border, you could always incorporate the herringbone half double crochet for a nice finish. If you search “Suzette baby blanket” on my channel, I show you how to make this border. 😊

@AmandaCrochets2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can use any yarn you’d like!

Hey not sure if you’ll see this but how do you end it? Do you do the last double crochet and just cut and weave from there or is there a slip stitch somehwre? :)
@AmandaCrochets8 ай бұрын
To end your blanket, you will make the last stitch. Then you will cut off your yarn (leaving a tail), and yarn over your hook and pull through. Then you will tighten your knot and weave in your ends. Hope that helps!
@suegesiakowski33632 жыл бұрын
Hi Amanda also What size needle would you suggest that I use... I am still new at this Thanks
@AmandaCrochets2 жыл бұрын
I would use the recommended hook size that’s mentioned on the label. For I love this chunky yarn, it should be a size K 6.5mm hook.

How do you think it would look if all four were added to make one baby blanket? Also, how many main color rows would be if I were to do it this way? Thanks in advance, love the pattern!
@AmandaCrochets2 жыл бұрын
I think it would look awesome if you made one baby blanket with all four colors. You can always make a smaller swatch of this blanket to see if you like them together. For my pattern, I made 10 rows of the main color, so you could try this: MC (red) 10 rows, gold/red striped section, MC (green) 10 rows, gray/green striped section, MC (gold) 10 rows, gold/black striped section, MC (navy) 10 rows, gray/navy striped section. To end the blanket, you can go back to the 10 rows of red to match the beginning or continue with the navy. Of course you can change up the color order if you'd like. I hope that helps and make sense!

What stitch would you use for a border?
@AmandaCrochets3 жыл бұрын
For a simple border, my go to is usually a simple single crochet border. You could always do a picot border as well.

Would you do color changes along the side when doing the border sc or go with main color?

Loving the pattern, but mine’s not laying flat. It’s buckling a little. I was told it’s because there’s no chain 1 in between the stitches. Am I doing it wrong? Been crocheting 30 years and this is one of my favorite projects except for it not laying straight :)
@AmandaCrochets3 жыл бұрын
It could be your tension, maybe? I've done this v-stitch with a ch-1 in between and without as shown in the video. You could always try adding a ch-1 in between and see if that helps to make things lie flat for you! :)
