Thank you for the tutorial! When I’m doing the row of single hdc following the row with column stitches does the stitch count go up? I’m coming out way higher than the original 28 we started at

Why does my scarf gets wider as I continue 😭
@AmandaCrochets21 сағат бұрын
It sounds like you're adding stitches to the ends of your scarf. I suggest using stitch markers in the very first and last stitch of each row to help keep those ends even.

How much different would it look if I use the holes between each group instead of counting stitches?
@AmandaCrochets2 күн бұрын
I’m not sure. You could always make a small swatch to try it out and see if you like it.
@Slayyy-kb4vl3 күн бұрын
? do i use a 8mm like you did? i tried to do it with a 8mm but it was way too holey for me would a 7mm hook be better
@AmandaCrochets3 күн бұрын
You can go down a hook size if that works better for you 😊

How would I make this into a dish towel?
@AmandaCrochets3 күн бұрын
You will change up the sizing by following the chain multiple. Then you will make your dish towel as long as you’d like 😊

Can anyone explain why my rows keep ending on a slip stitch instead of an hdc? I’ve frogged so many rows and started them over and I’m doing my best to keep track and alternate between the sl st and hdc but something keeps going wrong and I’m getting discouraged.
@AmandaCrochets4 күн бұрын
I would double check to see if you have an odd number of chains. It seems like you might be one short?

I really needed this. Thank you so much. Here’s the history. I did several of these blankets for my grandchildren. I think I did three large blankets with the stitch because it came with the wraparound instructions to the yarn. I crocheted my best blankets ever with this stitch, different types of yards and it all out gorgeous ! Fast forward to your video. It’s been a few years and I know I have that pattern somewhere, but this is my best itch pattern that I like the most so thank you for your step-by-step process your clear instructions very pleasant pleasant viewing.

Can you guide me how to end the project i mean you showed the starting foundation line but not the ending one and also what about those yarn when you switch the color what will you do with those fringes if you'll cut the crochet will start to open so will we make the knot?
@AmandaCrochets5 күн бұрын
When switching colors, I highly suggest checking this out: www.amandacrochets.com/how-to-change-colors-in-crochet/. As far as how to end the blanket, you will cut a tail after making your final stitch, yarn over, and pull the tail through and tighten. Hope that helps!

Thank you so much for this video and for explaining every step so well! I'm using your pattern to make newborn hats for our local hospital. My hats seem to get wider above the brim, and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong (I'm a crochet newbie). Im carefully counting the single crochets directly above the brim. Do you have any recommendations? 12:13 12:13
@AmandaCrochets5 күн бұрын
You're very welcome! That's an excellent idea! If your hat is turning out a little wider, I suggest maybe skipping a stitch every now and then. It seems maybe you're adding too many, which is causing it to be a little bigger. Hope that helps!

OK, thank you for the suggestion!😊

Hi Amanda- I’m very much a beginner and love this tutorial! I was wondering when the best time is to incorporate a color change. I want to do a stripe similar to your example. Should I incorporate the new color after the slip stitch? Or during the first dc of the new row? Thanks so much!
@AmandaCrochets6 күн бұрын
Hi Samantha! I'm so glad you enjoyed my hat tutorial. For the color change, you can do so in a few ways. First, you can complete your slip stitch with the first color and fasten off. Then, you can get your new color and slip stitch it onto that last stitch worked. The second way would be before you finish the round. You will almost complete the last stitch, but instead of yarning over to complete the last stitch, you will fasten off (leave a tail) and then lay your new color over the hook and finish the stitch with the new color. Then slip stitch with the new color to close the round. Hopefully this makes sense :)

@AmandaCrochets7 күн бұрын
Thank you! I try to hide them as much as I can. Otherwise, I’ll try to keep them on the inside of the keychain. I’ve heard other people take a lighter to the ends, but I haven’t tried that. I’m too afraid lol
