He cannot speak negatively on the Director while still under contract (This is the reason we don't hear about on set problems or behaviors on any movie set until after it's release). He's donating his full payment from this movie to Time's Up and other organizations but still is not able to speak on this presently. He's 22yrs old and wasn't prepared to articulate an answer to this form of questioning. He did express that. If you don't grow up as an advocate and become an actor for the love of acting, not as a platform to promote change, there is a learning curve. BlaqueCzar Old enough to what? Know better than to be a predator? Yes. Old enough to be a seasoned, media trained actor? No. He was asked a question that some of the most Hollywood elite have never even come close to answering to the satisfaction of the public. Bobby Dazzler Ancalagon Timothée was the youngest Oscar nominee to be nominated an Oscar in 80 years. He was OUTSTANDING in Call Me by your name which has an outstanding storyline, he was in Beautiful Boy which was based off a true story and his acting blew off everyone’s mind, by far his best acting job. He was in Lady Bird which he did a good job too, him and Saoirse Ronan were mind blowing, they are one of the best duo people in our generation. He was in Little Women which was a movie that is empowering to many women and a movie that boys and girls need to see, his acting was also amazing. He was in Hot Summer Nights which was a good movie for the summer of 2017, that role showed that he can do comedy, drama, and romance. He was recently in The King which he portrayed the role of King Henry V and did and AMAZING job because he showed that he can make more movies other than romance. He has upcoming movies like Dune and the French Dispatch that I know will be two amazing movies. Timothée has an amazing talent, sorry. Not other than he donated $1,000 to charity for the LGBTQ center in New York (you can even look up the video on KZbin). Timothée is super kind and loves his fans because he is a fan, he knows what it feels to look up to someone. Stop trying to go after people who are unproblematic and kind, jealously isn’t a good color on you.

@johanna18207 жыл бұрын
She never will. Selena Gomez is one of those stars who, much like Taylor Swift, somehow benefits from the current status of female empowerment, all while being the complete opposite of a feminist. Selena and Taylor are high and dry, VERY comfortable in their extreme success. Selena's blunder around the Black Lives Matter movement was embarrassing, but she showed her true colors (which is that she could not care less about current REAL issues) (which is probably also why she deleted the tweet - bad PR). When directly confronted about working with Woody Allen, all she had to say was that she didn't really how to respond to it, said that she wasn't trying to back away from it, but then did exactly that by dodging the question and giving a non-answer. Her previous manager literally said her entire team advised her against working with him, but it fell on deaf ears. Her own mother has publicly criticized her, so I think that says enough about what a bratty diva she really is. She cares about money, and that's it. She had ALL the information about Woody Allen, was advized against working with him by multiple people, and still went ahead and did it.
@paulmoneill7 жыл бұрын
Does the fact Woody Allen was never charged and found guilty mean anything in this case. If you're going to have a go at Selena Gomez at least have a go at every actor that's worked with Woody Allen since 1992 or even more so every actor that's worked with Roman Polanski since 1977. It's possible for a person to be accused of a crime and to not have actually committed it. If Selena Gomez chooses to work with Woody Allen that's her choice and her choice alone. She's being a lot less hypocritical than those who have worked with him and then immediately acted as if they never heard of the allegations made in 1992. No one in the media gave a shit about Dylan Farrow four years ago when she complained about Woody getting the Cecil B DeMille award at the Globes but now because they assume that Weinstein is guilty this must mean all people accused must also be guilty despite it being a different person and a different set of circumstances. People who worked with Woody and are now distancing themselves from their collaboration with him are just trying to make themselves look like they're taking the high moral ground. It's complete cowardice and hypocrisy. If you thought Woody wasn't a child molester before you worked with him why would you suddenly change your mind afterwards. There's been no new evidence presented since 1993 so if the law say's he's innocent why would the film industry be any more knowledgeable about the case than the relevant legal authorities?
@wolftownesque7 жыл бұрын
even if he was never found guilty, just look into how his current wife became his wife. It's all creepy and gross. If I didn't see you eat the donut but there's chocolate all over your mouth and a missing donut. We can all safely conclude that you ate the donut. You'd make a great lawyer btw. I just empathize more for the victims than the abusers. Sometimes a lack of concrete evidence isn't enough to ignore a crime. How many abusers have gotten away with their abuse towards others. There's a reason why victims won't speak, let alone a child victim. Ant that's what Dylan Farrow was. An innocent victim. Woody Allen can deny it all he wants, but in the end he stilled married his ex-wife's daughter. And that speaks volumes to his character, even with a lack of evidence.
@paulmoneill7 жыл бұрын
If you don't have concrete evidence you don't have a case. Marrying your ex wives daughter doesn't automatically mean you abused your seven year old daughter however much a person would wish to believe it does. I'm not saying Woody Allen didn't do the crime but if you're basing someone's guilt on an assumption you have an unsafe conviction in a lot of cases. A person could make an assumption that Mia Farrow coached a seven year old Dylan into making a false allegation as Moses Farrow believes but that also probably wouldn't stand up in court without concrete evidence. I would accept that Woody and Soon-Yi acted in a pretty horrific way in the sense they broke up a family and permanently damaged the family unit but I would remain in doubt about the original allegations especially with regard as to when the abuse is alleged to have began, namely after Woody had left Mia for Soon-Yi and not before then.

I understand we do not want to support sexual predators and should choose not to work with them. However, why each individual chooses to take a JOB is personal to him or her. Do we have to ask EVERYONE who has EVER worked with Allen to explain/defend themselves? I guess the press wants to publicly shame them for working with the likes of Allen, Weinstein, etc.

Besides, people who worked with WA did NOT evidently work with a predator. Someone is guilty of a crime when it has been proven beyond doubt. WA was not even charged with that crime, because after the allegation was investigated thoroughly by multiple parties, the prosecutor did not find enough ground for a formal charge and did not prosecute. It is irrational and inhumane to start a social outcasting process on people only based on 'beliefs' that they are guilty, or based on the severity of the crime from which he was acquitted.

New normal: accused = guilty, even if the mattter has been investigated professionally, litigated in the courts, and zero evidence has surfaced to corroborate the allegation. That is scary. People reflexively believe the accuser for two reasons: (1) they want to show support for victims; and (2) they cannot imagine why someone would make up a false accusation. Both are honest instincts, but the truth is, a certain percentage of accusations are false or inaccurate for all kinds of reasons. Real abusers should be buried under the prison, but people need to care more about evidence instead of jumping to conlcusions.

In this clip, you can see that Timothee is entirely genuine and has thought meaningfully and introspectively about the topic, whereas Armie has a lot of complicated language to sort of beat around the bush without saying anything in particular or making any personal connections to it. It's a shame, because I think Armie really has truly great amount of charisma, talent, and stage presence in films as well as an amazing tone of voice- he is FANTASTIC in Call Me By Your Name alongside Timothee. It would have been really cool if he hadn't abused women and had more of his s____ together so that fans didn't have to go through hearing about all this vile stuff after witnessing such an incredible film. I respect the good intentions of these movements, but I don't find them to be very fair or well thought-out. And, during this time of social media (where mobs form so easily due to mere accusations), there should definitely be more thought put into how to handle such things. Because, like it or not, as far as public opinion goes, an allegation alone is enough to equate to guilt these days. While throwing everyone under the bus who's been accused of something will undoubtedly nab you some bad guys, it'll also take down a lot of good ones along the way. And contributing to the destruction of someone's reputation "just in case", as far as I'm concerned, is a very reckless action. In my opinion, Woody is just another baby being tossed out with the bathwater. And it's very sad.

I saw someone on Twitter recently say that the best thing that a man can do in this movement (or in any other movements for that matter) is to work as a megaphone for the woman - to not be there to say HIS truths, but to amplify and allow the voices of these women to be heard. I thought that was an incredible way of looking at things, and it’s one I hope to adopt in the future.

I think a lot of people, specifically men, have not been aware of the extent of sexual assault, abuse and harassment in society, but with the #MeToo movement coming about, and people being more open and honest about these kinds of things, the world has taken a step back and started to self reflect and have conversations with each other about how to fix this. Honestly, I like Timmy but considering he's lived a pretty privileged life in terms of his race, gender, financial situation, I don't think he's ever taken the time really think about how his actions can contribute to the state of society. For example, I used to meat and buy products that had been tested on animals, at the time I knew there was controversy but never took the time to sit down and really think about my actions, my life is now so different because I understand more about the issues at hand. I think he was pretty ignorant (as are many others are) to the extent of the situation, and I'm glad he's taking steps to learn, understand, and attempt to make up for his decisions.
@ToroAzzurro7 жыл бұрын
I've read all of the papers from Woody Allen process, and I genuinely think he is innocent. That means I believe he didn't molested anyone. I don't love his movies particularly, and I'm sure I would say it even if he was a perfectly unknown person. Of course, maybe I'm wrong and he did. But to those who accuse him, I would ask, gently, without any kind of rage: "Did you read the papers? Or did you just base your accusations on an increasing rumor via twitter?" He was totally absolved by the allegations by two agencies specialized in these kind of investigation. I don't blame Dylan Farrow for having spoken out: as every other woman or man she did a very courageous and strong thing facing her pain. But, as you may know, there's a very common psychological phenomenon called "parental alienation": when a parent convinces the kid that the other one has done him or her something terrible. I think sincerely that this is the case. Even if I'm wrong, I would say this: the momentum created by the #metoo movement was strong and incredibly revolutionary, potentially world-changing. Please, don't ruin it by giving up to such a fundamental value as the presumption of innocence.

@elseverwoerd4 жыл бұрын
There are no 'recent developments'. Since 1992, there has been the sad case of Dylan Farrow, who made a non-credible abuse allegation against her father, while influenced and 'coached' by her mother. This happened during an ugly separation of her parents, and a bitter custody battle. Dylan's allegation was taken enormously seriously, the State Prosecutor hired two independent child sexual abuse expert teams to investigate in order to prepare a criminal trial against her father. Dylan has been listened to and interviewed over & over, for no less than fourteen months. The end result was that both investigative teams were convinced that the abuse did *not* happen, as Dylan was telling all kinds of different versions, including denials, and admissions of 'fantasizing', and sounded at times 'rehearsed' as if she was telling a story that someone told her to tell in words not befitting a 7 year old. So as there was no evidence of any wrongdoing, as both expert teams had concluded that the allegation was not credible, as Dylan made an unreliable witness, and as also the custody judge had found the allegation not credible, the prosecutor chose to *not* prosecute. Mia and Dylan both *agreed* to the decision to *not* prosecute her father. These are the sad, easily verifiable facts. And different than you think, this case has gotten *enormous* press coverage. The mother certainly had a motive to have her daughter make a false abuse allegation, as she had been hating her ex-boyfriend (Dylan's father) for half a year, as she felt betrayed by him. The therapists of the family and their nannies testified that Mia had been violent and threatening toward her ex-boyfriend, and that she had probably 'set up' the situation in which the alleged 'abuse' was to said to have taken place. Not just the two expert teams and the custody judge did not believe the allegation. Also Dylan's own hired expert claimed that her mother had likely 'put words in to her mouth', and her own attorney did not simply believe the allegation. Nor did the therapist, her nanny, and her own brother - a direct witness - believe the allegation. In all likeliness, the allegation was false. Now, a quarter of a century later, Dylan has told about the allegation again. Not in the courtroom, which she shuns, but only in the media. She and her mother still like to paint her father as an evil abuser. Lots of media have jumped on this, and now everyone is asked "Do you believe me?" and people are afraid to answer "no" for fear of being 'canceled'. I am afraid that Timothée Chalamet was not strong enough to answer 'no', as well. Particularly as a young actor, and beloved by many female admirers, and at the height of the #MeToo movement, he just could not say 'no' to a young woman who claimed she had been abused. Even when the allegation is probably not true. Totally sad. Timothée is said to have called the movie producer, and apologized for having thrown the director under the bus, but that he had no other option given that he was nominated for an Oscar for 'Call me By Your Name'. As said: this is totally sad. For everyone involved but the mother who is likely to have made her daughter make a false allegation 27 years ago. That mother got exactly what she wanted: revenge. At the cost of her daughter.

I want to call out Christiane Amanpour for her inappropriate questioning. It's the journalist's job to know the facts; clearly, she didn't bother to investigate the underlying story in an attempt to jump on the #metoo bandwagon. No actor should be shamed for working with Woody Allen as he is an innocent man falsely accused of a heinous crime by a jilted ex who brainwashed her own child to exact revenge. In these times, we're supposed to "believe all women," but at some point, you must move past the accusation and onto the facts. Two investigations show the accusation has no merit--no evidence found, Allen passed a lie detector test, passed a psych evaluation, and child abuse experts determined that the child was coached--that should be enough to quash doubt. Why isn't it? And what would be enough? The 30-year-old allegation resurfaced just as Ronan Farrow was trying to get an MSNBC show off the ground, and the publicity helped get attention. It's the same reason his mother said Frank Sinatra "could be" Ronan's father --another lie. Dylan, Mia, and Ronan have profited from rehashing this disproven story while publically shaming and trying to destroy others for working with Woody Allen. Did the Farrows give back the millions in child support payments from Woody over the years? No, they did not. Does Mia Farrow omit the Woody Allen films she worked on from her resume, interviews, or profiles? No, she does not. Did she donate her salary from the 13 films she worked on with him? NOPE! Not one cent. So why should Timothee Chalamet and others be bullied into donating theirs? Doesn't that strike you as hypocritical? Anyone who takes the time to investigate the story knows Woody is innocent; Scarlett Johanson, Alec Baldwin, Diane Keaton, Larry David, Sean Penn, Louise Lasser, Bill Mahr, Penelope Cruz, Javier Bardem, Merriell Hemingway, Jude Law, Cate Blanchett, Selena Gomez, Blake Lively, Kristen Stewart, Wally Shawn, Emma Stone, to name a few who know the truth. Anyone interested in the facts should watch "By The Way, Woody Allen is Innocent" on KZbin or read Robert Weide's blog "The Mortal Coil." For insight into Mia's abusive behavior, read Moses Farrow's blog "A Son Speaks Out" and Daphne Merkin's profile of Soon-Yi Previn in Vulture. If Woody Allen were guilty, I'd be the first to cancel him, but he's not.
