Sinhalese buddhist need a reason to claim Sri Lanka as their own. This land had belonged to the Tamils even before aryan invasion of the Indian subcontinent and later the Island (Tamil Eelam/Sri Lanka). They can because they’ve got political power so Sinhalese can change or corrupt history. They have already corrupted the Tamils history of Ananthapuram and they changed Tamil kings into Sinhala kings because changing history is like a hobby for them. Now they want to claim Ravana. Buddhism was born sometime after the time of Buddha, that is in the centuries after 500 BC. Ramayana legend is said to have taken place millions of years ago. If not that, even then it has been calculated to have taken place at least around 5100 BC. And Ravana was one of the greatest ever followers of Lord Shiva. Ramayana has been a folklore that has been followed not only in India or Lanka, but also in all south east asia and far east. Folklores have basis in actual history and have been the sole medium of passing on history orally for millennia. Keezhadi site in Tamil Nadu and Indus Valley are good example of the Tamil claim of the land. Also Sinhala history started with the invasion of King Vijaya which was 2500 years ago but Ravana’s history started way before that (7500 years

@The Predetor Veddas along with the Island’s Buddhist, Hindu and Muslim communities venerate the temple complex situated at Kataragama, showing the syncretism that has evolved over 2,000 years of coexistence and assimilation. Kataragama is supposed to be the site at which the Hindu god Skanda or Murugan in Tamil met and married a local tribal girl, Valli, who in Sri Lanka is believed to have been a Vedda. There are a number of other shrines across the island, not as famous as Kataragama that are as sacred to the Veddas as well as to other communities.

@The Predetor that’s real history! Tamil Buddhists in Sri Lanka but the majority of the early Tamils of Sri Lanka (before the 10th century Chola invasion) were Buddhists. The ancient Buddhist remains in the North and East of Sri Lanka are the remnants left by the Tamil Buddhists and not anybody else that’s real history. Sri Lankan Buddhism and Sinhalese folklore. She is also worshipped by Sri Lankan Tamil Hindus by the name of Kannaki Amman. She is considered the patron goddess pattini deviyo. Goddess Pattini is the deification of Kannagi, who is the central character of the Tamil epic Silapadhikaram of Ilango Adigal, written in India after the 2nd Century CE. After a short time, it was introduced into Sri Lanka and absorbed earlier deities such as Kiri Amma.Kannagi proves and protests the injustice, then curses the king and city of Madurai leading to the death of the unjust Pandyan King of Madurai, who had wrongfully put her husband Kovalan to death. The society that had made her suffer, suffers in retribution as the city Madurai is burnt to the ground because of her curse. Sri Lanka in Sri Lankan Buddhism and Sinhalese folklore. She is also worshipped by Sri Lankan Tamil Hindus by the name of Kannaki Amman. According to a genetic admixture study by Dr. Gautam K. Kshatriya in 1995, the Sri Lankan Tamil are closely related to the Sinhalese who are closely related to Indian Tamils. Sinhalese , tamils both have caste system. But nowadays sinhalese are very less care about caste. But tamils still do care. Sinhalese and tamils both have similar surnames. Sinhalese call chandarsekara, tamils call chandrasekaram. Sinhalese call premachandra tamils call premachandran. But tamil naming system is different from sinhalese. Srilankan tamils have genetic similarities with sinhalese people. Sinhalese have genetic similarities with north indians than indian tamils. Because of their significant genetic relationship with indian tamils srilankan tamils are generally darker than sinhalese people and some look exactly similar to indian tamils. Sinhalese have similarities with bengali people and other east indians. One could clearly recognize tamils because of their appearance. 95% Sinhalese peoples before India Tamils.( chola tamil king 🤴 invasion ) 2 nd century history.

You guys steal ours cultures. Stop and nonsense. I knows real Ravana history. You first learn Ramayanam because Ravana hidu tamil king. There are lot of evidence proofs that powerful Tamil King of Lankapuri (Ceylon or Sri Lanka) Ravana has been lived in Trincomalee. Because the Tamil tradition has it that the wife of the mythical king of Lankapuri, Ravana who was a devotee of Shiva, worshipped at the Koneswaram shrine in Trincomalee. Another proof is Discovery Of Ravana's swayambhu lingam. It was originally found on a Tibetan mountain and later brought to Sri Lanka reportedly by the Tamil King Ravana. Moreover, in the Ramayana Epic period Ravana has used Veena as Ceylon Flag and according to the "Veena" Pictures on the Trincomalee Fort proofs that Ravana has dominated in Trincomalee. Also the seven Hot Wells ( Hot springs ) in Kanniya was made by the Tamil king Ravana.
