Thanks for showing these desert rivers, they are so interesting to me. In times of high water, I wonder if anyone has even done a Death Valley canoe trip? :)

haha kayaking in the main valley is a thing to do in extra wet years... "Lake Manly" the ancient lake that once occupied the area occasionally reforms around the area of the low point and the giant salt flats can get a foot or more of water, just enough to float on. very rare event but there are a few photos of people kayaking but the rivers are either too fast and furious or too shallow. this one you could maybe float half a mile at most.. generally even where the flow is strong it is spread out...

We where there March 4, 2023 you can see where we crossed on to the right of the main crossing. It was no problem the water is 8-10 in deep at the crossing. We had a 4WD Ford Explorer, but I feel a 2 WD with Mud/Snow tiers and good clearance would have made it. Thanks for the vid.

going off road is not allowed we dont do that but glad you found a way to make it. a lot of people were making their own way around leaving deep tracks

Oh! Thanks for sharing! I was out there in October 2022 after the monsoon rains. It was awesome. I've been tempted to head out but I no longer have a 4x4. Sucks! Been looking for work. Have another job interview Wednesday. I'll be back!

I have yet to visit that area. Thanks for pointing it out. As for balloons - it is amazing of the amount of balloons on the ground that I come across while hiking in the wilderness areas. Also, on one of my trips to Mt. Whitney there was a party balloon overhead which floated by. You can't get away from them.
