I've heard that the thing with the background dancers when they are dressed like in this video is that they are supposed to represent the haters who gets turned into ARMY after hearing BTS's songs. Thats why they are chaseing them in the beginning but in the end they take "bullets" for the boys and are instead running with them. As far as I've understood, that is a thing in other MVs too, like in Mic drop. Don't quoute me on that though. I'm not sure it's right.

They quote Dr Martin Luther King in this song! If you can't fly, then run. If you can't run, then walk. If you can't walk, then crawl. A Crow tit is a small bird, and is a metaphor for the lower classes/disadvantaged people. Basically this is a fight song for the underdogs of the world.

Fun fact for you as an appreciator of STRAY KIDS, this is LEE KNOW's BTS back up dancer era, so he is one of those black clad dudes in the back (don't ask me which one). The "Crawl if you can't walk..." comes from Martin Luther King Jr's "Blueprint" speech, which is outstanding and well worth a watch/listen if you're not familiar with it. I highly recommend it to you. For many ARMY, this is an anthem from BTS about not giving up when life just gets way too hard. I suspect BTS wants us to explore further Martin Luther King Jr's original speech in which he asks us to have a "deep belief in your own dignity, your own worth, and your own somebodiness. Don't allow anybody to make you feel that you are nobody." I understand NOT TODAY to be BTS encouraging people to keep going, don't give up just because tough stuff is happening. It's an amazing song to play really loudly on bad days.

Also, at the concert I went to from their last World Tour, they performed this song right after Dionysus (which was the opener). It was incredible. The choreo of this one is remarkable.

BTS is talking to ARMY (the guys/girls in black) "There may come a day when we fall, but it is not today". There may come a day when BTS will not be No. 1 may not be the top dog in the music industry may not be there for ARMY but its not today. Because today we fight, they have worked very hard to make ARMY happy they have continued to work on their craft so that those that need them can follow them and gain a measure of happiness. So then they quote MLK fly, run, walk, crawl so that we can fight together as a group. And now you know what the song is about, feel cool???? 😎💜💜💜💜💜💜💜.

The original reference from Martin Luther King was no matter what happens keep going. Don't let anything and anyone stop you. I think this is the mind set that BTS is encouraging. That they, BTS, will not let haters or anything stop them.

the bridge is soooo good but also the lyrics for that part just give me so much energy. "throw it up throw it up throw away the fear in your eyes, break it up break it up break the glass ceiling that locks you up" not sure if youre familiar with the glass ceiling but its " an unofficially acknowledged barrier to advancement in a profession, especially affecting women and members of minorities." feels fitting that this was released when bts started getting bigger in the west being the first kpop, first korean and first asian in a lot of things in the music industry. plus can be applied to majority of armys situations globally as majority of us are either women or minorities or both. i always saw the people in black as armys not sure if that was the entire intention with all the perspectives or not though.

I don’t know you saw it but during the bridge when everyone got shot and they were on the ground in pain and the shot went to jungkooks horrified face it zoomed in on his eye. In the mv he’s looking at the members on the ground but if you zoom in on the shot with his eye you’ll see in the reflection jungkook is actually the one holding the gun
