Marconi? MARCONI??? Is it possible that in 21st century, you as radio amateurs, still propagate false idea that Marconi led radio invention? You use this technology with love and passion and credit wrong man for it. You as people who love this wonderful hobby, should be the first ambassadors of truth. TESLA invented radio and patented it three years BEFORE Marconi.You are probably using dozen of Tesla`s patents and credit somebody else for it. Alternating current you appliances working on, motors on 220 or 110 volts, Remote controlling toys or professional equipment, fluorescent lamps, arc lamps, electrical lighter for gasoline engines and many others.

Amateur radio is dying a sad death with the introduction of PLT That the RSGB APPROVED????????Plasma TV's Solar PANELS LED, LIGHTING to name just a few things that are polluting the spectrum with RF interference ,making it impossible for the average radio Armature in a suburban environment to use his/her radio equipment due to the Rf radiation from the said devices .Ofcom the UK regulators are not doing anything about it even though they have the powers to enforce it?they turn a blind eye to it .My opinion is the Government want Armatures off the HF spectrum and are making things as difficult as possible for the Armature radio enthusiasts hoping they will fade away .The RSGB are as bad as Ofcom if they are the voice of the Armature radio fraternity then we are up shit creek without a paddle it will only get worse .Shame on you

This video is SO out of date, which is no surprise as it was made eighteen years ago, and was pretty out of date even then. Lets have geriatric old men doing Morse code. Lets see innovation and the diverse areas of interest of modern radio amateurs. Please remove this nonsense and do something new and fresh.

If you look at the rest of our KZbin channel you will see we release new videos regularly and the video style has developed over the years. This is left on the channel for historical purposes, but there are plenty of new videos to watch!

@@TheRSGB Except when you search for 'What is Amateur radio' your 18 year old video is at the top of the list. You should remove this version and add the new one. If you want to keep the old version then edit the meta data and re-upload it as archive material. Perhaps you don't understand how the KZbin search algorithm works? Please remember that people will watch the 1st 30 seconds and decide whether to continue. You can't make a good first impression, twice.
