Should you get the Amazfit GTR 2? I've been testing the second generation smartwatch for the past month and I'm here to give you the scoop.
In this GTR 2 Review I'll be telling you everything you need to know about Amazfit's most advanced smartwatch. Featuring a large round AMOLED display, SPo2 tracker, heart rate monitor as well as a speaker/microphone, the GTR 2 is pretty feature packed.
I'll be taking a look at the GPS accuracy to see if there's been an improvement since the last version.

Got the same one. Very good watches. Replaced silicon strap by samsung gear s3 silicon strap, fit good. Battery consumption about 10% per day. Waiting for more watchfaces in the shop.

Thank you Dan! Great video! I am actually considering between the Huawai GT 2e and the Amazfit GTR 2, can't wait for your next video. I am like you, don't really care, whether I can answer calls with my watch. Basically, I just need a watch with accurate data, and able to listen music without carrying my phone with me, so I can focus on my sport training. If it can track my improvement will be a good add-on as well.

Hi, thanks for making great videos. I intend to use Always on Display (on a schedule), continous heart rate/sleep monitoring & notifications for SMS only. Hopefully I will get 7 days before I need to charge it back up. I'm liking the GTR2 with its minute marks (all of them as opposed to 5 minute intervals on the GTR2e) around the bezel so when used with an analog AOD it will be like a traditional wrist watch. Would like to know your experience/view regarding AOD feature.

@@FlyingFamily I have both. I d like to know why do you think huawei is better than amazfit's? I'm still getting to know the gtr2 but so far UI is smoother and I personally prefer it. Almost same functions on both of them except from voice comands (and a promised alexa), only found on gtr2, as well as multi-tasking (I hate not being able to see notifications or use any other feature while trainning) and wifi music transfer (bt takes forever). Still haven't tried GPS accuracy. There are some other differences but I find these to be the main.

@@feden84 now i moved to Galaxy watch active 2 gps+ cellular. The only drawback is battery backup very poor max to max 2days and if you are listening music and count all exercise in the gym it will drain in 2hrs.

@@FlyingFamily i recently switched to S G active 2, no sim card. Mine is 44mm and battery last for 72hs with no sports. Probably 48hs with an hour of sport a day. I miss not only battery but fluidity. Active 2 have lags from time to time. But Tizen integrates incredibly with Samsung and that's what I most enjoy. No need for extra apps

Hey nice video, so about gps I am not worried about the exact route but is it quickly lock before the workout? On gtr 1 doesn't lock before even 30 minutes it's so Dissappointing. The only thing that stops me from buying. this is so beutifull watch

Barometer measures air pressure (weather indication) I think you may have got mixed up with altitude meter which you guess ed it measures height relative to sea level

If you have an IPhone then this is the better choice compared to any Huawei or Honor watch. The Huawei IPhone app is not working yet properly. I guess it is under development. Also for android they offer more features if you have a huawei phone. Amazfit seems to work perfectly with IPhones., I have the Amafit Bip that is still being updated every couple of months. This GTR2 is my next watch for sure :)

Worth to note that Huawei GT 2 comes at a steep price, Huawei to even run the app require you to: 1. Make an account. 2. give the app priviliges for oyur phone calls, messages and files. You decide if you value your privacy so little to agree to this. Oh, and without the app, you won't be able tto use your watch at all. Amazfit doesn't do any of that apart from account.

@@rupesh411995 well, i buy the huawei gt 2, i prefer gt 2 looks more than gtr 2 and gtr 2 in my country is still in pre order phase and much higher price than gt 2 so yeah, so far so good, battery is last around 10 days or so on full day usage, many complaints about it's heart rate sensor not so accurate and kind of buggy though so if you prefer more accurate heart sensor then stay away from huawei gt 2 till they fix the firmware

I’ve had one for two weeks now great watch works great with my iPhone stress monitor works well with it which didn’t work with my last watch (magic watch 2 absolute rubbish had to send it back after 4 weeks it packed up huawei were appalling ! ) really pleased I got it.

I’m using the trex now and assume it’s the same functionality. So you basically just choose any exercise from the watch itself. Once done it will sync to zepp which will then share to strava (automatically). Strava will send a notification that your activity is ready to be shared post etc.

Battery 7:19 - Lies, the autonomy of gtr2 and gts2 is at a very bad level. gtr2 live (as you said) 14 days - only in ordinary hours, without notifications, communication, without pulse and other "smart" features... In the mode with trainings, notifications, heart rate - their real autonomy is 5 days maximum. Autonomy is just a disaster (when compared with the previous generation). This is the biggest disadvantage of this watch. Gts 2 live even less. Lots of real tests and reviews on KZbin about this bad side. Amazfit screwed up in the second generation with the battery.
