Time for another Matt live reaction...let's do it! So much Star Wars...Han Solo, Storm Troopers, THX?!? This is just the first 10 seconds! I'm excited for this one! I spy a fun movie poster wall...Zidoo? Zappiti? Let's find out Tony here - beard looks dope! Must have visited George Fun to see the progress. Like most home theaters, it is never what we want from the start. Nice to see that he expanded it. The room is very wide and tall - color me jealous Say it with me - sheetrock - not gyprock That THX sign...I think I'm going to get that for my setup NEAT idea with the LIFX...very cool. I've not seen them used in this config before That door with the rear surround is next level! Very cool idea and design. I think I see how Ben set it up. Clever and practical! The seating looks comfy! I'm partial to seating that isn't "Home Theater Black" - nice accent. Wait...wine wells? Don't tell my wife!!! This décor...incredible! The hidden room is a great surprise. Seeing the classic figurines is awesome! Very cool... OG Star Wars will always be the best. Awesome to see that Ben is preserving this memorabilia and doing is great justice It's Zapitti! Nice rack! Oh man...THX on the Pronto! Talk dirty to me! Tell Leo and Matt to “be one with the force....” - open them in sync! Holy cow...JVC up in here too...this keeps getting better Once my theater back together, I’m watching the Tolkien series. Baby Driver - fun flick, filed near me, cool to see the places that I know and used to visit That scope screen looks amazing! Nice to another Krix step. I’m still jelly that AUS can get them and I can’t! I’ll have to convince you to sell me your MX-10s! Those rear surrounds looks SERIOUS! Classy touch to wrap them and make them blend - hi stormtrooper! I can tell that Ben really made his theater one-of-a-kind. It’s great to see this level of detail in a room. You were able to capture it in this video MOAR ROOM TOURS! Mate - thanks for sharing this. I really enjoyed watching this one

Im just getting started into Home Assistant and think this is something I could automate using a Switchbot curtain and some blockout curtains. This room looks amazing! I’d love more info on how he built the lights.
@bengrier74382 жыл бұрын
Hi Mark, the column lights on the sides of the room are made from white laminated board, they are cut in approx 100mm sections and form a U shape and run from floor to ceiling. I mounted lifx downlights around 150mm from each end so the face each other. The fabric pannels sit over the face of the columns leaving around 70mm exposed for the light effect.

Very nice room, did you use a fabric track system for the walls? It all looks very clean man nice space and grats on the tour.
@bengrier74382 жыл бұрын
Hi Eric, we did not use a fabric track system for this one, we used solid 18mm mdf panels and cut middle sections out leaving a 100mm edge frame which kept the pannels ridgid.
@Justeric782 жыл бұрын
@@bengrier7438 Was cutting the middle section out to save on weight? The reason I ask is I am about to begin the process of building out panels to cover the front sound stage with velvet. I have been going back and forth specifically for the ceiling for sag concerns on using a basic frame or going with an entire panel like the MDF you mentioned. If you cut out the center basically leaving a frame and it looked that tight I may go the frame route instead.
@bengrier74382 жыл бұрын
@@Justeric78 I cut out as much as i could without effecting strength, the reason i needed minimal frame was so the sound did not bounce of the mdf but went through the fabric and onto the acoustic treatments behind every pannel ..
@Justeric782 жыл бұрын
@@bengrier7438 That is what I figured thanks, I think I will just use some 1"x2" lumber and strengthen it with L brackets on the corners and use magnets to get it to stick to the ceiling in a way I can still remove them to repair if needed. I appreciate the replies and props on all of that work, it is beautiful.
