Thanks Tony, your presentation of our room builds and the home cinema room tours are just next level. Big shout out to James, this room was more than 3 years in the making, the enthusiasm and excitement when we first met for a design consultation till the day we handed over never wavered. It’s so rewarding to know the family live and use the space.

James ia real enthusiast and it as obvious to me when I met him how much he loves this hobby so combine that with some great planning and you end up with an awesome room. Ticks all the boxes for me! Looking forward to the next ones Mick.

Fantastic room James. Great choice of equipment and tastefully put together. Thanks Tony for showing us this great setup.

Agree, excellent room. Was very nice to be in with a big wide room you get that feeling of space.

What an amazing room! Thank you for the shout out! Our panels look great!
@BuildMontage8 ай бұрын
Artnovion is my personal favourite brand for acoustic treatment - as I have them in my own room as well - so it's always a pleasure to show rooms that have them. If I build a room again, I will be doing a big wall of Valley CS!

Why not a higher end subwoofer or a krix subwoofer to match the rest of the krix speakers?
@Carl-iw9sy8 ай бұрын
While you are at it, throw in a Trinnov Altitude 32 🤑
@BuildMontage8 ай бұрын
I get why you asked the question, but dont forget this hobby is expensive and also, James has been into this for a while and sometimes nostalgia, we keep older equipment - those SVS subs are no slouch either - they pump out some serious output... This hobby is never ending and upgrades keep happening over time.

I think the screen hinge system would benefit from automotive gas struts.
@BuildMontage8 ай бұрын
Definitely. It’s a lot harder to implement that on 16:9 as it ends up being a very long throw distance. I’ve tried on mine and it’s going to take a bit of work.

Amazing set up, where did you get the acoustics curtain from?
@BuildMontage8 ай бұрын
I'm not sure, but I'm a local and I did something similar in my room - look up Shannon from Highland Shutters (if you're in the Sydney region). Tell him Tony from BM sent you and you can get a discount :)

You did not list the power conditioner in the gear. Do you know the model?

Amazing room. Question for you Tony - how do the atmospherics go do you know with other bed layer speakers with normal dome tweeters? I have an M&K system and looking for angled atmos speakers and these caught my eye. Do you know if the different tweeter designs cause issues at all when mixed?
@BuildMontage3 ай бұрын
They work really well to get them on-axis better than simply pointing down. I have 6 in my own room and it helps with the overall output from the system. They match quite well, especially with other Krix speakers, but I imagine they would still sound good in a hybrid system.
@TimCz833 ай бұрын
@@BuildMontage great thanks. Was trying to find something decent with more than 20 degrees baffle, but might have to go with these!

Tony, do you know which colour of Lux panel was used for the room? It looks great with the Monument paint.
@BuildMontage8 ай бұрын
I think its the dark ones. I dropped a link in the description.
@chevron9168 ай бұрын
@@BuildMontage The link opens up to White Oak which I’m pretty sure is lighter than was used. There are a couple of dark options. I was just curious which was used.
@BuildMontage8 ай бұрын
@@chevron916 I think you can change the colour options there on the page.

Another great video. Thanks for all the hard work you put in. I do miss the ones that aren’t end game type cinema rooms. It’s nice to see what people have done and can do (usually with a sack full of money). But as someone with little to no money, at the very start of all this, it looks both daunting and that the compromises people like me have to make at the start end up with rubbish in comparison. I know it’s a never ending thing if you are someone who is really into home theatre and audio. But it would be nice to see the more humble beginnings kind of stuff. Although that depends massively on your audience and not you.

Thank you I do appreciate that. I have a wide variety of tours on my channel from budget all the way up to very high end. Sadly the fully budget ones don't get a lot of views, but some of them do - I will share pretty much any room that has a passionate owner, and one that is well thought out and complete. One of my favourite DIY rooms is the one with the hex lights on the walls. I am actually about to do a podcast video with the owner John on how he built this room for under $20K! Stay tuned for that one!

Professional system. Those acoustic treatments are fire. The star ceiling makes this theater premium. Think I would be putting velvet around some foam board and put in those windows to eliminate any light and light bleed. Love that he has room to upgrade those subs. Great placement. It sure makes a huge difference when you can do most of a room all at once. One of my favorite theaters I have seen down under.

why would you need 4 subs
@BuildMontage8 ай бұрын
In a larger room like this, often you will experience issues with bass nulls, and having multiple subwoofers helps to fix that problem. You don't need them but James had the two extra from a previous build so why not utilise them :)

Great home theater Tony! His design is very similar to the one we are planning to build. I currently have a couple of the wood slat wall panels similar to his, plus the acoustic fabric samples to be delivered tomorrow. Saving this video for inspiration on our home theater design. Thanks!
