My cousin had his credentials for balloons and I had the opportunity to fly with him. My favorite flying, Gliders nothing quite like the response time in them. If you ever get the chance on your many adventures they have 2 seat gliders one for the pilot and one for the passenger. Keep bringing us your enjoyable videos, you guys are the best. Be Safe…

That hang gliding is above my pay grade, but gliders not so much. I have over 160 hours in them. I know the big truck and trailer can’t make Oahu Hawaii but if you ever get the opportunity for a trip there go to Dillingham Airfield and you can get your glider fix. You fly the ridges overlooking Pearl Harbor. That is a view you will never forget.

I love your suggestion for Glider flying I took a lot of lessons had my flight book. I was up to my emergency line break test where they take you to 200 feet then make you do a release and you have to make very quick decisions on where to and how to land. There is nothing like catching the clouds for quick accents and the silence up there is so amazing. Everyone needs to try it.

I got a ride in a balloon 30 years ago on a cold winters day, no splash n dash but tree tops and sliding across a frozen lake, love Tara's shouts of joy, great video!!

Awesome. Video. We were lucky enough to take a sunrise ballon flight while in Napa valley years ago. Beautiful to see the sun come over the mountains. It was so quiet in the balloon except when the burners were on. People waved to us from the ground. And the dogs were all barking at us too. We didn’t have a ceremony like yours afterwards, but we did have a wonderful Champaign breakfast. It is an experience we will remember forever.

It's about a month and a half until Balloon Fiesta 52 (2024) and I have just been watching some random Fiesta vids and came across yours. It's always so much fun to watch people enjoying Fiesta for the first time, especially when they get to fly for the first time. Our family has been involved in ballooning since around the late 80s, early 90s and my daughter actually works for AIBF now. She's actually friends with Tom! I have flown many times and it never gets old (which is more than I can say for me and my 2 bad knees!) Since my knees won't allow me to crew of fly anymore, I volunteer during the year and work during Fiesta. Thank you for sharing your joy with the world!

Back in the day..landing spots were not a problem…now with so much growth..it gets harder..being a chase crew is a tough job..finding the roads..how to get in…and make sure everyone is ok…I loved chasing

Isnt cool how you can hear everything and you feel no up and down. We used to Emcee for 10 years at a balloon fest where we live. one pilot told us of this great “splash and dash” place. We then discovered he had done it at a sewage treatment plant ponds. Thats why its so important to have pilot briefings when you are new to an area. We have tons of stories, but that stuck out to us. #thebuellerbunch.

I flew in 2015 and I still have my flight certificate. I think the most amazing thing about my flight was how incredibly quiet it is when you're floating about 1500 ft. above Albuquerque. Glad you enjoyed it.

Thank you for the amazing representation of the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta! I've flown four or five times because of crewing for friends here in Albuquerque but this year was the best! I was able to crew for a friend for the Darth Vader hot air balloon. On top of that, I was able to fly with him on Monday in Darth during the Fiesta from the field. Flying from the field is an honor. I have many friends that are also friends with Tom but I've never met him. It's funny because we also work at the same place. One day I'll catch him and introduce myself. I'm glad you had a great time and how cool that you got to do a splash and dash!!! Thanks again! =)

Amazing video! I also drove up to Sandia Crest while I was at the balloon fiesta, and the views are great from up there. I also loved all the yellow trees. I drove the entire Turquoise Trail up to Santa Fe, but ran out of time to explore Santa Fe. So glad that you got to go up in a balloon. The view from there had to be incredible. Thanks for sharing!

I don't know if they still do it, but years ago there was a mini balloon festival that flew out of Yuma. We got to see some of them launch when we were down there visiting the parents (snowbirds), but it wasn't a fraction of the size of what you two got to enjoy. Perhaps one day we will get to see it!

So much fun! This was on my husband’s bucket list too. We just traveled up to Letchworth State Park ‘the grand canyon of the east’ and did a balloon ride. Our first two flights were canceled due to wind but the third morning was a charm. It was absolutely stunning. The colors were turning and seeing the gorge from above was unbelievable!

With the data you have provided the annual Balloon-Fest has now been added to our bucket list as a MUST-SEE event. It looked like so much fun even if they were long days. Your suggestion to go to the top of the tram ride early in the morning to capture the balloons as they take off would be an awesome way to capture a lot of balloons in one set of frames. I'm guessing that a great day to head up there, weather dependent, would be the shape day when the crowds on the ground were the largest. With a good telephoto lens, you could probably get a bunch of super still shots and wide-view videos on most of the balloons from high up.

I have been wanting to attend the balloon fest and now I know a lot more about where to park and getting there early seems like a good plan. I love your balloon flight, that will be a great memory for you. My first flight was at Zephyrhills Fl. you guys probably know where that is; I parachuted from that balloon at 10k feet and it was amazing. We landed in the same field as the balloon so we became part to the recovery team as well. The two part episode of the balloon fest was great, good camera work and you two are always entertaining.

Thanks for sharing your adventures. My wife and I met you outside of the museum prior to the Fiesta start. We now are Very stoked to make it out for the actual show. While we were there, we rode the m/c up to Sandia Crest. It was a very enjoyable ride and view up there. We came from Santa Fe. We suggest to take the time to also ride thru Madrid (Wild Hogs fame). The special shapes are the greatest. The school district has fall break Thursday and Friday that week so one of the reasons it is so busy during the special shapes rodeo. I love this video, showed so many of our favorite spots around our adopted city ( We moved here from Montana the greatest place in America). Thank you for the wonderful video.
