Sorin.. It's so cool that you focus on one of the greatest era's of music.. 1966 thru 1973 or so. Us kids were so hard into blues rock and all the other stuff way back in the good old days ! Your Van der Graaf Generator is totally rad.. And I want one ! Haha 🤟So Awesome that you pulled a Pink Moon copy out of the wild west in Arizona ! i HAVE THAT 2013 as well ! Right.. the first UFO LP's are killer ! Now your talking.. Town & Country is missing in my vinyl collection, and glad you have one ! Later on.. JT

You might be interested in an Italian film called, "Nerosubianco", aka "Attraction", from 1969, in which Freedom did the soundtrack. They also appear in the film. If you search "Butt Of Deception" on Y.T., you'll find a clip I posted of them from the film. They featured ex-Procal Harum members in their line-up. I've also got the non-LP 45 released by Zoo, which is pretty cool, and to my knowledge, hasn't been released on any of the album re-issues. If you like UFO's first, then you'll love their second. Pure Space Rock!

I knew about the soundtrack, but didn't know they appeared in the film. I'll look that up later for sure! I'll have to check out the non lp 45 for the zoo. I've got UFO 2 and agree, pure, amazing space rock! ✌☮

@@sorinvinyl1523 Good luck on finding the film! It's out there, but there's only a few snippets on Y.T. (lots of nudity in the film, hence why I didn't post any other clips of the band!). I'd have to check, but I think there must be 4 or 5 clips of 'em. The Zoo 45, (Sunset Strip/One Night Man), is on Y.T. I only payed £5 ($7-ish) a few years back for a decent copy. Star Storm!!🛸

Amazing finds Sorin, I have an early press of that Van Der Graf album, and it's fantastic. I have a few other albums by them, Pawn Hearts is among my favorites by them. Cool Groundhogs LP love that band Thank Christ for the Bomb is also pretty good. I have a reissue of the Town and Country LP, it's on a "twofer", with their first album, and though it's not a Robert Ludwig cut, it still sounds pretty good. Albert King's Born Under A Bad Sign is awesome, cool you found it for $10! I have the RSD reissue, and it sounds great. VU's third album, to me, sounds like they're seeking redemption, after the first two albums with songs of sex and drugs and violence, the third has all these songs like Beginning To See the Light, and Jesus that have an almost angelic sound to them. My favorite song from that album is What Goes On. Incredible Haul! Arizona is a treasure trove! Thanks for sharing these great albums, take care.

As a fifteen year old in 1973, the companion album to Pink Moon was "Bless The Weather" by John Martyn. All these years later, it still is. John and Nick were friends and i suspect it was Nick that encouraged John to take a more esoteric musical path. .. On another bent altogether, I thought of you whilst listening to the band Crown Lands, it might be worth sharing them with your father, they defo have a Rush feel to them without being Rush derivatives.
@sorinvinyl15234 ай бұрын

@sorinvinyl1523 Sadly no, I had my entire collection stolen in 1978. So few people bought Pink Moon second hand copies were incredibly rare. Those that did buy them mostly hung onto them. For years I had a single sleeve 80s repress, I now have the version you own. I do have an original "Bless The Weather" though.

I'm confused about terminology. You said the Van Der Graaf Generator record was an "original UK" and then later "an '86 reissue". I'd always assumed when peope say they got an "original" they meant a first press - is that not what they mean? Thanks, love the channel.
@sorinvinyl15234 ай бұрын
Ah looking back I can see how what I said was confusing. My friend was the one who got the original, so he gave me his old copy, which was the 86 reissue. I was just saying thay he got an original copy, but he gave me his reissue. Original does mean a first press, at least to me and to most people. If someone says they got an original, I would assume its a first pressing. I hope this helps! ✌☮

Great buys Sorin. I've took a picture of the Ursula Creek review in AA and I'll send you via DM on Insta. Hopefully you'll be able to read it. Been on a bit of a Nick Drake journey the last few days. Rewatching documentaries on YT and listening to outtakes etc. I had one of the UK Island samplers in the early 90s with Time Of No Reply includesd but I can't even recall it leaving an impression. It was only a few years later when someone said I should check him out that I bought the Fruit Tree CD box set and that was me sold. Just an incredible talent. PS I do own all 3 as UK originals now which I only completed this year after almost 30 years. Cheers Nige
