Yes that mask maker is incredible! Very cool mask that Jimmy got ! (and had permission to get LOL) I can just picture him wearing it with that camera on top, zooming down the street on the scooter LOL Amanda your eyes are so so pretty. That last part where you got to see the masks in action was sooo nice!! I wish I would have been able to catch an authentic festival there!! I didnt get a chance to visit a mask shop and it looks like I missed out.. very, very dope looking!! I think I would have gotten one too haha what a beautiful piece of art!!

Can you tell us about the scooters you are driving? How much did they cost? How to know you are renting them from a reputable company? Did you know how to drive them before you went? If not, did you just hop on and figure it out? Planning a trip to South East Asia in a year and I am nervous about the whole scooter situation! haha Thanks :)

The most common scooter you can get is called a Scoopy, which is a good starter scooter. If you have travel insurance, you usually will not be covered unless you have a motorcycle endorsement. Scooters vary in price, but in Bali it was around $30-40 a whole month for one, so its crazy cheap. There are literally no traffic rules in most places. That being said, you could get pulled over by the police. They could a hassle you, so be sure to keep some change($5 or so) in case you need to pay them off. Facebook expat groups are really good for info on this too. As for us driving in SEA, fortunately, we had a few friends to ride with to give us some pointers. It is definitely a big learning curve, but sooo much fun after you get comfortable. Feel free to email us if you have more questions!
