This is what I don’t understand about Africa, cleaning up the beach would cost almost nothing to the government but the number of visitors that they would receive will priceless

The pollution comes from the drainage of the towns into the sea. It's because the drains are open that stuff falls or gets thrown in.the drains are open because off sand clogging up covered drains.

@@watulukamedia6724 it is complex my brother, it involves town planning law compliance and taxes being used properly, it also means corruption in the public sector has to be addressed, basically government hasn't got enough tax revenue to construct all the roads and drains needed in towns,feeding waterways.then to stop the sand from entering the drains you need proper infrastructure like pavements and landscape works to limit sand filled water run off. Anyway to your main concern about the beaches, yes they should be treated as an asset not only for visitors but we ourselves. Lagoons are where some fish breed and the damage affects our fishing industry. A solution would be to have nets trap the plastic waste at the sources, but the challenge would be emptying them fast enough and processing the plastic waste instead of land filling which is unsustainable.

@@watulukamedia6724 I think comparing countries in this way is unfair, the land tenure in Rwanda and their recent history make direct comparison to Ghana problematic. I don't know who you are or how much reading you do, so I will not as we say in Ghana " talk plenty" Do some deep thinking and you will see that there are reasons for outcomes,some of them very surprising.

I got you bro it was taken in Accra. The first two beaches were taken at a place called Luxury beach followed by a place call Akuma Village and the last place we visited was Bojo Beach.
