I think the web novel and manga states that the aphrodisiac wasn't the thing that cured Rudy, in the manga I think it states that he used one before but it was only temporary. He got cured cause he woke up next to Sylphy and realized she truly loves, and that she wont run away.

It's also said in the LN but in a more subtle manner. The aphrodisiac didn't made him have an erection, it amplified the excitement he already felt for Sylphiette. No aphrodisiac can create the sexual desire but it will multiply it if the feeling is already there, even slightly.

The Nna's POV chapter is basically my favorite alternate POV chapter in the entire series. I'm absolutely a sucker for those times of when we get a view of what Eris is like from the viewpoint of someone who isn't Rudeus. I think it'll probably get its own OVA like Eris the Goblin Slayer if things go well enough with the second season. Hopefully, anyway.

It could be split up around the Sylfie 0 chapter’s various flashbacks.

I almost don't think it'll happen at all given how the season is going and the thickness of these particular light novels they're adapting. They're making more eps than the first season, but already had to rush through and squish double the normal amount of chapters into several episodes Still, I DO HOPE it gets an OVA like eris goblin slayer. Well just have to see. Bind seems to be in a bit of chaos seeing as how the directors changed and are allegedly changing again for the second cour of season 2. Mmmwop :(

If it does get a OVA, then Season 3 Part 1 would be the best shot with the midway point or just after coming to mind then considering if they stick with 3 volumes per part so 6 volumes per season then Season 3 Part 1 would end with the conclusion of Volume 15 that's when Charmander returns to Pikachu/Ash joining Bulbasaur and Squirtle.

Man, I would really love to see that Eris chapter animated, but like you mentioned Andrew, I can see it being skipped, so here's hoping for an OVA. I've said before that this Arc is my favorite in the whole series, and yes a good part of it was all of the development we had with Fitz, but there's still so much greatness to come, I'm really looking forward to it!

The professionals have exhausted all kinds of methods without success, and Rudy himself has tried various drugs after that without success, but you think Luke's medicine is the most important link, which is ridiculous. When you were talking about how thirsty Sylph was and her green hair I had the same thoughts of it being a curse and laughed. I would love to see an extra blue ray episode where Eris goes to the Sword God temple. I love the magic in this show but think the sword fighting would be great to watch as well.

Edit here: I consider myself an all three, Sylphie, Roxy, Eris, guy. They each have a unique place in the story, they each have their unique way of making him stronger, and they each have a unique way that he makes them stronger. Without one of them, the others wouldn't be as good. I think you have the wrong idea about the "love potion", and the man god's purposes for telling him to go to the academy. This is all from paying attention in books 7-9, so not a spoiler. The aphrodisiac was a tool to help Sylphie push over the mental barrier that Rudy set up for this problem. The "lady of the night" that tried to help him in book 7 says he needed someone like Sylphie to overcome his problem (i.e. someone he trusts completely). Rudy's problem stemmed from the fact that he didn't trust that whatever girl he would be with wasn't going to leave him like Eris had. Notice every time he gets ready, then stops, it's because he thinks about the girl leaving him after the deed. He even felt that a little bit about Sylphie too, hence the wonder about them seeing each other after the whole cave thing. The potion was just a tool for Sylphie to freely express her devotion and trust to Rudy, and for him to accept that she wouldn't leave him, and lower his mental barrier. If Ariel had tried to fix him with the aphrodisiac, it wouldn't have worked at all, despite her being insanely beautiful and knowledgeable of those things (because he doesn't trust her implicitly). He also said that he'd used many methods and drugs before trying to cure it. So, it was still Sylphie that cured him, not Luke. Actually, if you think about it a bit more as well, that also explains why Luke suddenly defended Rudy; he understood the insecurity of wondering if you're going to be betrayed in such a way. As far as hitogami, he knew Sylphie was there, and that she would be able to cure Rudy. That's why he told Rudy to go there (obvious if you take into account that he said in book 6 that he can see the future). If Rudy hadn't been going to the library often to research the displacement incident, which "Fitz" was also looking into, he most likely wouldn't have developed the relationship with Fitz/Sylphie, and wouldn't have been cured. There are other reasons, but those ARE actually spoilers, so, I won't go into them.

I wonder how long it really took for rudy to fire off that spell. The way nina tells it, it was pretty fast. The anime makes it seem like a few seconds, but maybe thats an exaggeration and slowed down just to show Rudy's thoughts while forming the spell.

Paul did tell Rudeus way back in volume 1 to show women his weaknesses along side his strengths "Protect someone with your strong points while you let your weaknesses be protected by the other person" Holds true for both Sylphy and Eris Pov... Although you could argue Eris already loved him before seeing his weakness and Sylphy as well but still, worth to note how it actually made such an impact in both relationships.

Nina's POV should be Episode 0 for Season 3, they gotta since there's no way they're gonna throw away her cameo moment from Season 2 Episode 8 and just leave it there. Plus hearing Eris talking non-stop about Rudeus after Nina called her a virgin would sound priceless, it would be awesome to see Badigadi taking down every Beastfolk Men and Nina on-screen.

Saying Sylphie wasn’t enough is WRONG. She was enough. They would’ve gotten there at some point no matter what even without the aphrodisiac. Giving it to him only helped get him get it up but it didn’t fix anything and it wouldn’t work with anyone other than Sylphie. The Sylphie hate is unreal

I love the Nina POV, she also mentioned her own biggest flaw, she was ignorant of the world beyond the sword sanctum. She didn't have a clue about what was going on at the magic university, didn't even realize the beastfolk there weren't students. Whereas the beastfolk clearly knew she wasn't a student, either from her behavior or the fact that she wasn't wearing a uniform, but they immediately stopped her from entering the library.

I thought it might be interesting to let you know, while the Webnovel is almost beat for beat identical to the Light novel, the Webnovel has a bit of content that was cut from the Light Novel. A couple Noteworthy examples are: - During Rudy's stay at the Doldia village, a few chapters describe how Dead End spent their time during the Rainy season. This part is so packed with interesting details and events, that It makes me wonder why it was cut at all. This one, I definitely reccomend giving a read. - After Rudy realized that Fitz was in Fact a girl, before they went with their final Plan, Sylphy, Ariel and Luke planned and attempted multiple schemes to get Sylphy and Rudy together, all of them ending in miserable failure. This one I can see why they chose to cut, as it almost feels like filler content. But it's funny to see them setting up multiple schemes, to ultimately be foiled by Rudy's thick-headedness, or Sylphy's indecisiveness.

Idk about the first one, but the second part being cut out makes so much sense because it turns something serious into a comedy montage which doesn’t fit the tone. It’s much better that they talked it through and shot down all the bad ideas before coming up with the perfect plan. @@SolitaryLark I guess I meant to say that whatever exists on both versions are almost exactly the same In Both iterations, and pretty much the entire story DOES exist on both versions (Some novels like to tweak little details here and there, making the same event, but changing the characters that were involved, changing what character say, adding extra dialogue, or even what was done to resolve a problem. Hell, some LNs create additional main characters that didn't exist in the WN) In MT, it's almost eerie how little changes between version. It almost feels like it was copy/pasted at times. Basically, almost nothing is changed between the LN and the WN. Things are just added, or ommited/removed. When there's a difference, it's generally a chapter (or 2) worth of extra story crammed into a set point of the MT plot. Though you're right. it seems I did neglect to mention that there are entire mini-arcs added in between certain arcs in the LN. Also, the LN likes to add some bonus content that didn't exist before, like new perspective on other characters that wasn't shown before, or fun/interesting little side stories.

The Eris chapter seems like a great way to end the first cour of s2! I hope they include it, they did include all the relevant characters in the last season, the OVA including Zenith’s sister, the blessed child, and ofc Cliff. I can definitely see them showing some of this even it’s much briefer. They even went back and included some of Zenith’s chapter in the final episode, getting anime only to see her say she loves Rudy. Most of the cut content was extra hints for stuff that would be too obvious if shown visually, or long inner monologues. The cut Sylfie stuff is already essentially confirmed to be included in s2. The Ghislaine chapter doesn’t directly impact the story it seems. Ending the first cour with that extra chapter just makes sense, especially when it gives context to where Eris was going with Ghislaine, teases upcoming events, and shows just how fast Rudeus ACTUALLY casted that Stone Cannon! How he looks to an outsider.

It can he a bit confusing in the sword sanctum. Sword God gal falion is Nina's dad and Gino's uncle, one of the sword emperors is Gino's dad and Nina's uncle. I assumed the sword emperor had also told her this, but it could just as easily be a translation error or just a seven seas moment. Bah! I forgive it because they translate and publish at twice the speed of yen press with re:zero I've legit considered picking up the Japanese copies as well and referencing it with a Japanese to English dictionary to check a couple things before :p

Seven Seas has had many issues with translation qualities. I've found many a grammatical error and other translation/localisation issues over the many volumes... It's kind of a thing that we have to just barge through. Really wish Mushoku Tensei was picked up by a different publisher, but oh well

I really love your reactions but this is hard to listen because I don't know if you're joking or not. I mean do you really believe Rudeus has never tried an aphrodisiac before? Soldat brought him to a super fancy brothel where they tried everything and it didnt work. He couldn't get it up. That's the problem. I think he tried every aphrodisiac he could get his hands on but nothing worked. Just when he got turned on in the library by Sylphy, then he was cured. The next problem was that because of his anxiety, he couldn't keep it up, that's how Luke helped lending an aphrodisiac to overcome his anxiety of this first time after so long, and then when Sylphy stayed, he was fully cured. Let's say there was no Sylphy and Rudeus had tried just the aphrodisiac, it wouldn't have worked because Rudeus body was "frozen", he just couldn't get turned on no matter what, it would just make him feel emptier. He had no libido.
