I am a “Mormon” (Member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) and would like to address some of the questions posed to the best of my abilities (I am fairly certain every thing I say is what we believe, but I’m not 100.0% sure). For the first question about how Jesus could create his own brother, 1. We believe Jesus was the creator of everything in the sense that he organized the world (or the universe) into existence, not necessarily our spirits (we were with God in the beginning). 2. Satan is the spirit brother of Jesus Christ in the same way we are ALL spirit brothers and sisters of God The Father (Heavenly Father). Also, as pertaining to salvation depending on ourselves, we can sincerely repent in order to redeem ourselves of our sins through Christ’s grace. We fall short of God, no matter what we do, but the atonement offers us a means through which we can live with him again.

@Jody we are called to repent and believe-they go together. “Turn from sin” is just a paraphrase of the meaning of the word “repent”. That doesn’t mean that we must stop all sinful activities before we can be saved, ‘cause, yeah, that’s impossible. But it does mean that we stop pursuing sin-turn away-and turn to Jesus, agree with His righteous judgment of our sin that it is deserving of death. And the fundamental sin we turn from is the sin of unbelief. The rest comes step by step (some steps bigger than others) as God sanctifies us. So, yes, your understanding is correct; I think you may have misunderstood how he was using the term.

Spreading the gospel to non believers can be done jumping feet first into evangelism. By simply telling people about the good news but you should know a couple scriptures to back up what you believe. Now to evangelize to believers in other faiths you should have more knowledge in the scriptures. Sometimes getting into apologetic evangelism it can take a year to a couple years depends on how fast you grasp the scriptures. Theres different levels of apologetics. But then again sometimes God gives you the wisdom and the words right there and then to preach his word. Hope that helps. Have a great day.

@@gordianknot9595 That is a fair question. I would sincerely hope that I am not closing myself to the truth. The usual difference between a Bible believing Christian and a devout LDS is that the Christian would try to point to the LDS many apparent flaws that the founder of the LDS, Joseph Smith and many so called “prophets” thereafter made in history, such as false prophecies, sinful lifestyles, and contradictions the Book of Mormon has against the Word of God, etc. I hope this answers your question. But practically speaking, LDS would sometimes not prefer not to hear what the Christian has to say, as the LDS “eldership” would refrain from being witnessed…

@@gordianknot9595 Awesome question! My name is Eric by the way. What's yours? The works based "salvation" of the LDS is unequivocally the polar opposite of the biblical interpretation of how to receive salvation, aka being born again. There are a couple of things to know to really understand and see the big picture. The LDS affirm salvation "by grace after all that you can do". Ask a Mormon how to be saved (and I mean a traditional Mormon that doesn't change their doctrine over time, which unfortunately they do) and they will say something like this in order to appease the main prophet Joseph Smith and the other prophets: ..."We must believe in Jesus Christ, be baptized in the LDS Church, continually repent, sustain (support, agree with) the LDS prophets, receive the LDS ordinances (such as baptism for the dead and eternal marriage in a Mormon temple), and live faithfully according to the commandments." Would you agree that is something you would have to work towards? If you say yes, then you would be correct. That is a perfect picture of works based salvation, which is unbiblical. Now, biblical Christianity teaches salvation by grace ALONE, through faith ALONE in Jesus Christ ALONE. Consider it this way... It is by grace that I have been GIFTED faith.... Faith and or belief are not a work, but a gift... that I myself could never earn or receive in my own terms... ever... I hope this makes sense.
@Mr.Lateralus Жыл бұрын
@@gordianknot9595 Another great question! To put it simply, it is because you never "received it"... Actually to be more biblically accurate... we don't want His gift.... We want our sin instead... Isn't that true? The bible says we grew up hating God... We are hostile towards Him.. BUT because God is rich in mercy, He gave you Jesus the Messiah so that we don't have to suffer His wrath. His sacrifice was on the cross to pay for YOUR sins... MY sins. Now He is resurrected and seated on His throne. Put your faith and trust in Him, confess your sins to Him, and repent. THEN and only then will you sincerely be a child of the Creator of the universe! God! He is the most amazing King anyone can personally know. I put my faith and trust in Him when I found myself to be a horrible person, and my sins (fornication, lying, stealing, murder in the heart, etc) had brought the PERFECT SINLESS King to the cross... But it only took true integrity to see this... and to be honest with myself. John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." And now I don't fear death as much as most people... Now, I look forward to heaven. Moreover, God in heaven. If you don't truly know who He is, you don't know what your missing out on... You might die tonight! Please don't miss this...

Apologia’s concern is that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints don’t agree that Jesus Christ created Lucifer and therefore teach a different Jesus that can’t save you. Latter Day Saints believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to earth, lived a perfectly righteous life, suffered and died for the sins of all mankind, was buried and resurrected again on the third day. And only by faith on Jesus Christ can mankind be saved. What difference does it make whether Lucifer was created by Jesus or rather was a spirit child of our Heavenly Father that rebelled, as to the salvation of Latter Day Saints? The 10 commandments were a part of the law of Moses but all of God’s commandments are also a part of the law of Christ; 1 Corinthians 9:21, John 14:15. Keeping the commandments is necessary for receiving eternal life. Matthew 19:17. Don’t let Apologia deserve you.

@@Elizabeth-rk3do Eternal Life is a blessing that will be given us in the world to come. We don’t have it yet; we are all going to die someday. And we must keep the commandments to receive Eternal Life; Matthew 19:17, John 17:3, 1 John 2:3. Here are some other key verses teaching that our salvation is acquired over time and is more of a process than an immediate endowment; Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. Romans 13:11 And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed. Colossians 1:22-23 In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: 1 Peter 1:5 Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time 2 Peter 1:1-10 1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ: 2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. 5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. 10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall: Hebrews 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

I appreciate the respect, and I appreciate your knowledge of the Christian faith, and I actually don’t disagree, but when I see these videos, I can’t help but think to myself “Would God- who is omniscient- really condemn someone who genuinely BELIEVES they are following him, who genuinely believes they are worshipping Christ, who is not a part of a sadistic cult that is obviously evil but rather part of a sect of Christianity that has some different beliefs than other sects?” It’s an important question because we have to assume that you and I don’t have a perfect understanding of the Bible and of Jesus’ teachings, either. Hopefully we’re just a little off, but we may be waaaay off. Would He judge us for our mistaken understanding? I just don’t think so. If so, we’re all screwed, because we are certainly not 100% right. Maybe we’re 60% right, and an LDS or Jehova’s Witness is 45% right. So is that extra 15% going to save us? I don’t think so. I think we do the best we can to understand the best we can, pray and learn as much as possible, and have faith in Jesus that he will forgive us and save us. I don’t see our LDS and Jehova’s Witness brothers and sisters going to hell for their beliefs. Maybe, but I don’t see it. But then again, our understanding of God is approximately the equivalent of the understanding the ants in my back yard have of me. We do not have perfect understanding. I don’t believe God expects us to. Look at Jesus’ conversation with his disciples in John- his disciples who had been with him personally- as he awaited his apprehension by the Roman soldiers. Not even they understood him. He continually asked “So you still not understand? Do you still not know who I am?” So did his disciples go to hell for their lack of understanding? I just don’t think so. I think we have to be careful not to be haughty about our own understanding. I appreciate what you do, but none of us are wise enough to call ourselves better or more righteous than another sincerely believing Christian. We think, with the mind of man, about God. We believe, with the heart of man, in God. It’s a bit like using a single chisel to carve Mount Rushmore. It’s just not a powerful enough tool to save us. Only our faith and God’s grace can do that. Anyway, that’s how I see it. But (as goes my whole argument), I could be wrong.

Apologia misuse scripture again where Isaiah is addressing a rebellious Israel who keep some aspects of the mosaic law by saying their righteous acts are like filthy rags. Far more relevant for true followers of Christ is Revelation 19:8.

Apologia says that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints teaches that salvation comes by obedience to the laws and ordinances of “this church.” Not so; that’s another Apologia lie. The Church teaches that through the atonement of Jesus Christ mankind may be saved by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Apologia now try to double down on their deception by quoting Isaiah 64:6 saying all our righteousness is as filthy rags. But Isaiah was talking to an unrepentant, apostate Israel who thought the mosaic law made them righteous. But those living under the law of Christ are righteous (1 John 3:7) and their righteousness is as fine linen; Revelation 19:8.

Ok what about other people, like the atheist channels who do put out some really good content and debate or fine rebuttals to other channels claims. A good channel for freedom but more on the Atheist side is “Liberty in our lifetime” and look at their channels tab. (Also their playlist tab.) There is plenty of atheists there who have debunked many claims by some of the biggest Religious channels on here and these Christian channels don’t allow debate on their channels as they don’t allow commenting. As much as it hurts, The Atheist clearly has more thoughtful thinking and evidence to back up what they say. So religious channels really don’t stand a chance this is why I think they don’t try to rebuttal them. I’m really having doubts about religion and such.

What are you talking about? Literally all of the ministries and apologetics channels ive seen allow and engage in debates, questions and comments. Apologia, InspiringPhilosophy, Alpha and Omega ministries, testify, whatdoyoumeme, answers in genesis all engage in debates and answer questions off of the top of my head. You should take a look at Apologia’s and Inspiring Philosophies videos and scroll through to find answers to probably any questions you have. I have to disagree, i think atheists get easily refuted on the vast majority of topics. If you don’t have the foundation of Jesus Christ, your “religion” will be lost

Please have a look at the work of William Craig - he has debated Atheists regularly and thoroughly. There are several Christian channels that discuss Christianity (not sure what you mean by "Religious Channels" - admittedly, I cannot find much apologetics by Muslims, Buddhists etc..) Premier Unbelievable is one that hosts conversations and debates between all manner of people, Theists, Atheists and even Anti-Theists. Capturing Christianity hosts guests that tackle many objections that Atheists have about Christianity. Whaddo You Meme?? discusses pop-culture in the context of Christianity. Inspiring Philosophy looks at Christianity from a philosophical and historical context. On balance of the evidence and reasoning, Atheism doesn't make sense to me, and I'm happy to share my personal experiences - please feel free to ask.

I promise you they have heard every objection to Christianity in the book, including any of the ones that the people that you listed have said.
