AMAZING PHOTOGRAPHY WITH A DRONE | 7 tips to get awesome photos every time!
If you struggle when trying to take photographs with your drone, you need to watch this video, I talk about all the things you need to think about when wanting to get great photos from your drone. I plan all of my shots, I find a subject to put in my shot, I work out where I am going to take off and land from, I make sure it is close to what I want to photograph, I then wait for the good light and when photographing, I use all of the features the drone offers me when I get the drone in the right place.
DJI Mini2: amzn.to/3lG7Wrg (the one I have)
Mavic Air2: amzn.to/3lEVuIv
Mavic Pro: amzn.to/3aBvQhl
If you are buying any of the DJI drones, it's always worth getting the fly more combo sets, this will give you much more flying time as all of those kits have multiple batteries included.

Those were some great drone photos, Mike. Phuket looks beautiful and a perfect place to do some flying. I love getting stills from my drone and have used your stacking technique before to get much cleaner images. I still fly the original Mavic Pro. It is not the best image quality when it comes to stills, but using different techniques like stacking and bracketing and timing of the light can produce some fantastic results. Now I just need tickets to Phuket and I will be in business. I hope you guys are continuing to stay healthy and safe. Take care, brother.

Thanks so much Steve! it has been fun getting the drone in the air so much lately, really been enjoying it. The mini 2 also has a pretty average camera at 12Mp, so I know exactly what you mean. The stacking technique works wonders for cleaning up the image though. We're all good, got lots of changes coming soon ... all exciting and a little scary ... but you'll see what i mean soon. 😁👍 I hope all is good with you and your family dude!

Mike, great stuff here. However, I believe your information about maximum flight height beginning at 6:14 is incorrect. The maximum height restriction is how high the drone is above ground level, not takeoff height. The restrictions in the U.S. read: maximum height is 400’ above ground level (AGL). The only exception is if you are within 400’ of a structure, in which case you can fly 400’ higher than that structure. For example, you would be violating this restriction if you took off from an elevation of 300’ ASL (above sea level), flew the drone 200’ straight up (you are now 500’ ASL and 200’ AGL) and then flew over ground that was lower than 100’ ASL. You’re in violation because you would be higher than 400’ AGL.
@mikesphotography
@mikesphotography 2 жыл бұрын
You are right in that respect. It is over the land you are currently flying that dictates the height ... so if you fly it off a cliff, you'd have to readjust your height so it is lower than the maximum permissible hight, otherwise, technically you'd be breaking the rules. I made a correction in the description as I'd already filmed and edited it together. Thanks for watching 👍

Haha! It can be quite nerve racking!! On one of the flights at the point, I had the warning come on and the drone was still 1km away from me ... I only just got it back and landed it ... I was being a little wreckless that time though so it did teach me a lesson. They are a lot of fun and easier than you think to fly...but I know what you mean about budgets ... so many toys to drain the bank account!! 😫 As always, Thanks for watching my friend 😁👍

Thought drone photography had to do with type of bees; who knew😁. As a city dweller, never tried the genre. Saw some amazing “stunt” drone footage taken indoors (at bowling alley, as I recall), but not stills. Vid has rarely covered drone aspects - nice. Best drone image would be shot of bird attacking drone, just before crash😁. Cheers!

Dear Mike, I’m truly inspired from your videos, you have teach me A LOT! I’m planning to pre-order Sony A7IV for portraits. Do you have any suggestions between 85mm 1.8 or the G master? Because people have different opinions and I would love to hear yours🙏🏻 I really appreciate your help!
@mikesphotography
@mikesphotography 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much Ali for your kind words, that means a lot and helps me when I need a bit of motivation to make the videos for my channel for you. I have the sony 85mm f1.8 and I love it for portraits. There is a bit of difference between the two lenses but it is not as much as you'd think. the G master will blur the background a little more but most people won't notice the difference. Personally, if I was you, I'd go for the 85mm f1.8 and save some money for other lenses. I also love the 35mm f1.8 and those two work so well as a pair...I always have them both with me and they are my most used lenses. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching 😁👍

Thank You for the interesting video. B is my option! Love the contrast. Will check the video over 'Photopills'. Edited to go over your second request: would love to go and purchase a drone. Not doing at the moment as I am focused on my sports photography. Would be a great asset, just not going now for it mainly because of current regulations - are just to over extensive! Not against, by any means, is just like taking a 'pilot course'!!! Time is lacking!!! Cheers

what software did you use to stack the drone images to fake the long exposure? edit, it was photoshop, but how do you stack them to get that result? i dont know this setting
@mikesphotography
@mikesphotography Жыл бұрын
In photoshop, add the images into layers. I just do this from lightroom as there is a specific setting at the bottom of the list in the "edit in" function. Align layers in the edit menu so they match perfectly. Then, select all layers and in layer dropdown menu and convert to smart object. Then lastly, in layers menu, select smart object, stack mode, and then select either mean or median. This should average out all of the images and reduce the noise. I hope that helps. I also did a video on this last year: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKSVenuanLeGfKM&t Thanks for watching 😁👍
