Amazing Grace Benediction - Rick Hall Funeral (2018)

Some of legendary music producer Rick Hall's music industry friends and co-laborers joined together for a farewell serenade of "Amazing Grace" at the close of his funeral. John Paul White kicked it off by telling a funny story about playing Rick some of his music. Then, we all gathered to sing "Amazing Grace."

Thanx, Candi. Thanx Rick. Thank U 4 the music. It ll live as long as the Lord allows mankind to keep doin what we re not supposed to be doin ...which may not be very long. Went thru Muscle Shoals once in 7/90. Dropped by @ Fame, naturally, and was treated like a family member by the female clerk who was the only person in presence. Not sure if she said she was Rick s wife or daughter ; 32 yrs is a long time and I had been driving the whole day, and the humidity was high... Rick was out of town, but she directed me upstairs to Rick s office to see the gold records on the wall almost without asking - me, a stranger from somewhere northern Europe. That s the kinda southern hospitality the whole world respects. Just beautiful, and comes clearly thru in nearly everything produced by Rick and the folks down there. 3 years later year met Jimmy, David and Roger & Clayton near here w some Malaco artists @ a festival - great people, down to earth types, no star complexes nonewhatsoever. Never seen or met You, Candi, but I have your first 3 albums produced by Rick on Fame in mint condition w 2 in sealed shrinkwraps even, also duplicates in nm that I use when I play them. By happenstance collided w your ch today, and here I am writing this greeting to my southern soul sista. You are a legend,,needless,to,say. This country is Finland, and not sure if you ve evvuhh performed here. But, it s never too late until it is. Betty Lavette did the festival here 10 yrs ago. Heals! Don't think he was, it was an early Sunday morning service and at that time, Clarence was still on the road ALOT!!
