Hi Mike - whilst this is a great monitor, MSI monitors seems to have serious QC issues - there are a lot of posts on various forums about dead pixels and backlight bleed on this model with some users receiving replacements that were worse. Those who received good ones were very happy with what they had, but one guy had to wait until his 5th unit before he had a good one. Whilst MSI have taken huge leaps in motherboard and graphics card quality over the last 4 or 5 years , their monitors continue to suffer with quality issues - I'm jumping on this as a client recently ordered 5 MSI monitors (not this model) and 3 got sent back (one for a dozen dead pixels which almost makes me think damage and the other two for horrendous backlight bleed) and I was genuinely surprised as I thought MSI quality had improved - but after a quick google it seems that their monitor department has not managed the same uplift in quality that other parts of MSI have achieved. This is disappointing as a lot of their monitors get great reviews for colour accuracy and decent HDR.

aving had crt's my first lcd panel was 2006 and lasted for over decade until panel failed. Bought cheap LG ips panel and thought this is great! Wobbly stand aside very basic but now use Son's Dell TN monitor and quality of unit/stand much improved similar to this MSI. Albeit the Dell has usb/hdmi/dp & 120hz the TN panel lacks the image quality this MSI offers big time! Love the idea of controlling thru windows and the rgb! Thanks for reviewing Mike and Kath 😺👍

yeah i already have a very similar monitor on my desk, but my rig is almost entirely MSI so i am tempted to get this to complete the set and see all my stuff in msi center

Great spec for the sub £250 price. For £150 the LG UltraGear 27GS60QC, Dell G2725D. Going cheaper you will sacrifice stand, ports, VA panel technology that some or many gamers don't like with ghosting.

Hi, Mike. I have one MSI 1440x3440 monitor, but it's currently collecting dust, as the 1440p resolution just doesn't work for me. My main monitor is a 1080p SAMSUNG 32-Inch Odyssey 160Hz currently priced on US Amazon for $159. Oh, what was that crack about getting older reduces response time? I'm older than you, buddy. And my response time is as good as it's ever been, if not better.

Got this for my son a few weeks ago, paid 270 quid for it 😢😂 seems ok after a bit of tweaking. Wasn't too impressed with the hdr, but i have an oled, so it's probably not a fair comparison. He is really happy with it, so thats the main thing. Gutted i could have saved 70 quid 😂

HDR400 is basically a marketing con. HDR600 is the bare minimum for it being usable.

HDR 400 seems visually better than the HDR100 or baseline models, but like anything it is really subjective

good video. im super tempted to get one . but I've got the offer to buy an o led for 450 and ben used 6 months .27" ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDM Gaming Monitor from ASUS you think its worth taking it mike? Don't play games but watch a lot of vids on u tube and spend alot of time in front of monitor. cheers

Wow, Amazon Spain sells it for €270. I bought mine a month ago. It has fantastic colors and all but it's plagued by stuck or dead pixels, obviously it comes down to luck, not everyone will have the same issues. The fact that this is seen as acceptable by these companies is pathetic. Lots of reviews from people having these issues and also the USB-C at the rear gives problems.

@mikesunboxing yeah lucky I got a few out. There is just one green pixel that is stuck that just won't come out. My old 1080p 60hz display never had these issues.

No I won’t just buy it, I’ll watch the reviews first. It’s also 27 in, that just doesn’t cut it anymore, 40 inches minimum for me.
