I'm cornfuzzled. It says "non iron" barrel. I thought barrels came in steel and plastic. Would someone be so kind as to educate me on this matter? Thank you

Non iron = not made of iron it's a steel barrel.
@bob21612 жыл бұрын
@@abrahamlopez1027Thank you. I asked to be educated and you responded. I do appreciate it. However, I believe I need to educate you a bit. Your response seems to be based on some severely flawed logic. Based on the formula you provided, since a plastic barrel has no iron in it, a plastic barrel could also be used for this project. Surely you can see that isn't true. It seems you're not aware of how steel is made. Steel is a man made product. It is not a naturally occurring element. Iron is a natural element. We use iron to make steel. Steel contains an iron concentration of 98 to 99 percent or more. The remainder is carbon-a small additive that makes a major difference in the metal's properties. Technically, it can be claimed that steel is an all natural product, but steel in itself, is not natural. Guacamole, similarly, can also be claimed as all natural. However, I've never seen non-avacado guacamole. Thanks again.

a few things... 1) either the lid should be pounded wider or drum pounded narrower so lid overlaps, OR the cement top sill should be higher and sloped to the outside, to prevent it filling with water every time it rains. 2) the drum will rust (starting at the hardware) and the whole thing will fall apart in a couple years 3) the concrete stove top should probably have a 3rd hole that vents up thru the lid as chimney, otherwise airflow is very restricted 4) get that baby hot and the wire rack will soften and sag into the fire. need a heavier grate material.

@@digdugsmug possibly a misspelling of "one iron drum"? When he cut it open for the lid, you can see it had already rusted inside.

Nice job! 👍 I wish you were my neighbor. Awesome use of barrels for multi function grill put. I’ve seen barrels cut in half used as grills m, and adding the concrete really makes for better ovens and cook tops. Add a top griddle area and a side burner for coffee and you’d have it all right there. 😂
