It turns out you do have video for large format 8-1/2 X 11 images. It was very helpful although I still haven't done it yet. I like to make the wood frame out of strips of hardwood pallet wood glued or strapped together on the back. I like the rusticness of the wood with the grooves and spaces between the strips. It looks nothing like a regular picture in a frame. I always divide the image in ~1/2 and do one section at a time. I have just printed out a few images on your paper and it's been a dream come true not having to mess with jams and double-sided tape. I wonder why Tom didn't use regular paper.

You might note in the video that I stated I don't see the point in doing full-sheet transfers. If I wanted a full-sheet image to frame, for example, I'd rather just print out the image and frame it as it is. What you're doing sounds unique. Perhaps you can email me some images? So my paper did the trick for you? As for Tom's paper, I don't know how it's made. Only that it would jam in my printer if I didn't tape the feed in edge. If he didn't stop selling it, my paper would never have been invented. I did it because there was no other viable option. 🙂

Your transfer paper is miraculous. I have used almost 40 sheets and not a single printer jam. Of course, my luck with transferring is not quite so great. Using too much gel medium. It takes much longer to dry. I am getting a little smarter in that aspect but maybe now I am using too little. My question to you is, would the smart thing to do instead of sanding my failures back down to the wood should I fill the small davits with wood filler and paint the white paint over it? Also, any idea what kind of marking pencil I should use to color in the small spots that go missing, acrylic pens oil based paint pens magic marker. I am tolerant of some small areas of missing color but I really would like to color them in where I can. I will email my efforts to you good and bad shortly. Thank you.

Outdoors in the sun, I started dabbing the glue for full coverage, & warm water does seem to help. Have a spare print & make sure its lined up exactly to get it transfered.

Wipe the top of the Liquatex jar off after each use that will get the dry stuff off a, so you don't get it in the bell and transfer to the board.

The last one really came out great, not counting the little bit that didn't transfer. The wood grain has come through, which I think is a shame. What best to paint the wood with to eliminate the grain from showing, Rix?

Just use white paint and no wood grain will show through.

@@jamesjohn8361 You're right to be concerned, although I don't know all the paints. I've used white acrylic paint spray with good results. I'm sure a white primer would work also. You should basically experiment with paints you might want to use before you do something serious.

Cool stuff, and thanks for sharing. But I don't not believe for a second that this is easier than sublimation. I sublimate at home and it's easy peasy. By the time you get done pressing out air bubbles, I would already be done. And too many variables with right amount of medium and the time you have to be quick to get the image on. With sublimation, once you know your settings for the heat press you replicate it over and over and virtually no issues.

Yep. It's easier and doesn't require all the sublimation equipment. You can't get any easier than printing on a piece of paper and gluing it onto a surface, only to moisten and peel it off 3-4 minutes later.

At this time (2022) it is currently $21 for 30 sheets. We've not raised it since inflation has increased all our supply costs, trying to keep it down. So we can't know what 2023 will bring.

As far as I know, indefinitely. It's going to depend on the glue and how well it holds to the wood. The image itself won't come off.

Can't think of how you could do that without taking off some of the surface material, including the paint. I don't remove them, I transfer images OVER them. This is where the white paint method works great. See my other videos on that.

@@rio-bf9dh If you can glue regular paper to the surface so that it can't come off, then you can do this process with the Quick Transfer paper onto the same surface and the image will stick (but the paper will peel off). Woodstained surfaces are no problem (assuming it is a dry surface). If you have polish on the surface then you'd want to remove that as it won't allow much to stick to it. Test ANY surface by determining if regular paper can be glued to it and not removed. That will tell you the 'stickability' of the surface.
