Buying a Sharpie chisel point marker makes marking the edge a one swipe per side process. Almost a quarter inch wide at the point, it simplifies the application of ink to the edge.

I have used my KME system for years and love it but it doesn't do my larger knives very well. I bought this TSPROF Pioneer and am beyond impressed...it works well with my largest chef knife. I think the price is very good for a sharpener of this quality. Great Video!

Great review and video. I have the Pioneer and really like it. I'm still learning about how to get the most out of it. I had a 6" steel shooting target and some rare earth magnets from another project. Stuck 2 to the shooting target and some rubber feet on the target, and man, what a difference. I still hold the base when using it but much more mobile and stable. Keep up the good work, I'm a long-time follower. Blessings!

I suppose the wire edge would have to be removed so it doesn't end up in your food. I imagine the leather strop would take care of that. Good video, I need one of these.

no, what would take care of that is flipping the blade like twice each side and removing the burr with the stone. Strops should NOT be removing burrs, it should simply be refining the edge.

No, the strop is great for removing the wire edge. That’s what they’re for.

@@Simplelittlelife maybe microburrs, but if you can see or feel a burr, you shouldn't be stropping. With a guided system you can get hair whittling edges on anything above about 600 grit by simply flipping it over 2 or 3 times each side with negative pressure.

Personally i crave a really realy sharp knife! I appreciate yiur video. I have one of those cheap Lanskey setups. They can get me shaving sharp...but it is definitely kinda mickey mouse. I see some of these models are quite high priced. Given your experience...which is the better bang for the buck? Are they shipped from US of A? Thanks

does TSPROF have cermamic or glass stones above 1000 grit?

Diamond stones over 1k make no sense, they will just break off because their small size.

A ceramic stone is good for the higher/finer grits. But before you start to sharpen a blade, run it on the strop, maybe just 5+5 times and check the result, often the edge comes to live again. If not just try the finer grits first. It is just when there is damage on an edge (or a new made knife) that you need the coarser grits, or you want to change the angels on the blade. I just reworked a Mintongli with 4 inch length. 5 inch high and a 4mm thickness, from a soso sharp to very sharp by making it almost like a scandigrind. Hard to cut paper as they blade has a to steep angle, but makes a very good steak/meat knife to deploy when you are out eating and the cutlery is bad.

As a long time machinist, although it's expensive, it is in line with what manufacturing costs. Even low price manufacturing has a starting cost of at LEAST $60 Per hour. Auto companies per hour costs far exceed this price. It sucks

Pretty sure if the USA or Canada was invading another country, driven by one man it wouldn't last long if at all. The majority of the Russians (although maybe brainwashed) are backing Putin and seem to be fine with murdering thousands of innocent people. So yeah I won't be purchasing anything from Russia even if their product is great. If that makes me an idiot I'm fine with that. I enjoy watching your videos and will continue to do so.
