With the longer knife that was touching the table when turning anyone with half a brain would have set up the knife sharpener overhanging the edge of the table.
@CedricAda Жыл бұрын
the knife hanging over the edge or the table with kids and pets running around was a little too precarious, but great job on embodying the ‘grouchy keyboard warrior’ npc archetype. Shame it took you two comments to get the poison out. Anyone with half a brain would watch till the end and do just one negative comment for greater impact.

I just figured out why the angle cube is so important. It's why you don't have to obsess over the exact placement of the knife in the clamps, since the cube makes sure the angle is the same as previous sharpenings. This took me years to finally cotton to. Not sure if I should be embarrassed or proud.

Very nice initial review, Pete! These two TS Prof sharpeners really get my attention. However, the portability and outstanding tech support of my KME keep me loyal to them. KME portability design and carrying case make it easy for me to take my sharpener to a friends home to sharpen their knives, rather than them schlepping their knives to my home. But this Pioneer sure looks like a nice sharpener. THANKS PETE!!!!!

I have a suggestion for you. Drill a couple of holes in the base of the sharpener and screw it down to a board. Now you won't have to clamp it down. If you make the board the right length, it will be over the table so you won't have to worry about it hanging over the edge like you were talking about in this video. Just a suggestion but it worked for my sharpener quite well. I really enjoy your videos and look forward to when you releasing one. Thanks - Later
@genesishep9 ай бұрын
Not necessary as there are already holes in the base to do just that. If you watch the video you'll catch that there are two pre-drilled holes ready to mount the base to whatever you choose. I would probably mount it to a thicker piece of heavy lumber. Something that will anchor it as well as raise it high enough to prevent large knives from hitting any surface below. Or of course you could just mount it so it hangs off a table edge.

You can, but the radius of this is guaranteed to be different to the radius of the tool and user in the factory so it will be very hard to line it all up perfectly.
