I just made this with boneless skinless thighs they were amazing also low carb friendly thank you! I had to cook it about 20min mark though to get the inside cut a lil more white

Great job. I would have started them skin side up. You said they went skin down because they were skin on, two reasons to do the opposite. The skin needs to crisp up, that’s why you had to increase the temperature. Second reason is that the heat comes from the top and the reason to start them skin up is not only to give the skin time to crisp, but it acts as a shield to the rest of the thigh to keep too much heat from drying them out. This comes from 20 years of smoking chicken on a charcoal and wood smoker. Same principle applies to the air fryer

Over the years, I have discovered that it's very wise to wear disposable gloves when you working with chicken. And of course when the pandemic hit, we all now have gloves in the house. It's not being fuddy-duddy or useless but it does cut down on bacteria that can get IN you through small cuts you might have on your hands (and not even know it.). You can give yourself a terrible level of a very distressed stomach from the bacteria from chicken. And I'm a southern gal. I get it. But I would suggest using the gloves. And I just use it while I'm mixing up the chicken. I just grab the chicken with the hands? I'm a southern gal and I totally understand.
