If we can keep our coho and Chinook salmon sustainable and the pollution down with all the boat traffic/ferries, the big boats, then hopefully our grandchildren's grandchildren will be able to enjoy them and their own growing pods for many, many years to come 🙏❤️🇨🇦

Incredible footage, thanks so much for sharing. Camera swings to the beach show how close they really are to the beach, and how shallow the beach is, great perspective, fantastic. Only thing, video is too short! We need a 24/7 cam there to catch them all. BTW, they are super nice to us too, not splashing or spraying at people. It feels like I am there myself.

Wasn't it amazing to witness how gentle and trusting they are toward us? Any one of those men could've walked right into the water and stood beside him to show how close we can get and it probably wouldn't have done anything (don't know how close Mama was or the huge male) but I honestly don't think they'd do anything violent. But these men also are brilliant enough to know when and where to respect their boundaries. As everyone should. Cheers 🦋

They love those rocks on their bellies and backs and it's so amazing to see them play and enjoy themselves and not worried about you at all. Actually the one juvenile near the end of the video came gliding in sideways and quickly looked up to make sure that you were still there!!! So amazing watching nature in their environment and not worried about you at all. Amazing experience and excellent footage 😊

That male is massive, I'm always blown away by how big they are when they break the surface. Mamas boys! I think they beach themselves in this case for a basic rest, since they cant really sleep ever.....cant blame them. You can tell they absolutely have a sense of self Stretching out, all the way thru their flukes. Like when I wake up i stretch all the way thru my toes, it must be a similar sensation. Why have I been led to believe that Robson Bight is some sort of special magical area known to be the only place where orcas exhibit this behaviour? I've always thought that claim sounded far fetched. Thanks for confirming my suspicions were warranted. What island is this, and is this area also an ecological reserve, like Robson Bight?

It is not an ecological reserve.. It is a beach on a privatly owned Island. The Orca do this at numerous beaches up and down the west coast of Canada

Could this have been a training session? I mean there are Orcas who deliberately beach themselves (temporarily) when hunting seals or other animals there. Provided these are a type of orca who do this...
@niceprguy24 жыл бұрын
They say that they do this because it is like getting a massage.. I bet it coud be them training to do what you say too. These ones do eat seals. Thanks for watching! :)
@christianealshut11234 жыл бұрын
@@niceprguy2 What told me this was that there were quite a few calves there - that's what got me thinking, And being as intelligent as these animals are, I thought it logical that they would use play situations to train for real ones - for that's the real use of play behavior. Orcas are also one of the few species who play with their food - I've seen footage of Orcas hunting seals who toss the seals into the air and then let them go, if they have eaten enough before.

why did you say where this is ,have you know respect for these whales ,this little town needs to use this kinda ads to get tourist ,sorry people are going to come there and they are going to mess up the beach while they hang around there and ruin it for the whales,my advice .lets leave the whales alone!they were not put here to be human entertainment!!!like people in boats now are abusing these whales for a utube vidieo sad!!!! very foolish to name where this is ,just take your film and leave them be now you watch this place is going to turn into a human dump !!!

its not hard to figure out by the stuff on your page ,these whales have enough problems surviving and i hate seeing people take advantage of them for own personal gain ,i say count yourself lucky and privilage to see this but you know its getting worse for them with tourist and everyone wanting to get a shot with them ,i see boats racing out of the harbour when the whales are sighted so they can get close up to them which is a big no no but people do it out regard for the whale,mys well just put them all in a tank right,no!they have whale watching in some places and they have strict rules they abide by to protect the spots whales go to ,im not critisizing you just telling you to protect them where you live ,dont add to there stress to survive ,you are very lucky to see what you saw !sorry i love all livingthings dont want to see your secret spot get ruined seen that happen too by people who have no regard for animals or humans and are garbage pigs that ruin all the beautiful spots

There’s a live cam setup purposely to view the orcas at Rubbing Beach because this a unique behavior to these Orca’s. Calm down. It isn’t this youtuber’s responsibility to protect these animals and the areas where they reside. It is all of ours. If their isn’t some specific rule in place to keep the location secret, then they did nothing wrong. Especially since it isn’t a secret where this is.
