I agree 100%!!! These are the precious hymns that our Great Nation was built upon!!! I have great love and respect for those that compsed those wonderful hymns out of the 1700's, 1800's and the early half of the 1900's!! If they had placed their faith or made their music based on like the feel good hipsters of the 21st century, our Christian society would have never made it out of infancy!! Who knows what we'd be?? I grew up in the windward islands in a country called Dominica. My family were all methodists. Every sunday we would go to church. They wouldnt sing it every week but maybe once a month and i would get excited when it came on nd start singing my lungs out. The words, tune was great and the church we went to had an organ and the organ player made the song even better (RIP miss africa) This was my favorite hymn then nd it still is

Beautiful story. Hope Dominica submits to God and not the world as we are doing here in Trinidad. Carnival is a celebration of the devil through drunkenness, debauchery and immorality and it's state promoted and supported. The culture leads people to swear, drink, do drugs and feign godliness. Pray for Trinidad and nations like this.

I just need to share this. How is it that we can approach the eternal throne with such boldness. Being dressed in Christ's righteousness affords us such privilege. A condemned sinner can boldly approach an almighty Creator with such confidence because all that can be seen is the righteousness provided by a perfect saviour.
