I can tell you the reason. The size difference between ATX and mATX mainboards is very small. So this could have been an ATX compatible case if it was just a few cm higher.

@@achannelhasnoname5182 I'm well aware. I have built many ATX, mATX, and ITX systems. I still believe there's no one size fits all. Different people like different builds. For some, they want smaller than ATX even if it's only slightly but need more IO than what's on an ITX board. Or for others they don't need everything that's on an ATX board so if they can get an mATX board for $20-30 cheaper, they are super happy. More options is better. Last thing we want it to be forced into only having one size.

Its amazing, I did 2 builds for cusins in it each with artic 360 AIO and atx PSU. Its also possible to fit a third 120mm fan in the bottom intake, but it definently needs a fan gril for it to be sensible.

I got this case a couple of months ago. I spent so much time choosing the most practical case and I am pretty happy with my choice! Things that I love: - No tools needed to remove the outer plates. - No stupid RGB lighting - No unpractical glass doors that add weight but are just to show off your RGB lighting - Mesh plates that help to ventilate the case - It's long enough to fit a full-sized GPU (Zotac RTX 3080 in my case) - USB-C port on the fron panel - Quite lightweight - The price is pretty reasonable (Cost me about $80 USD) Things that I didn't like (because of the mesh walls): - The walls get dusty quite fast - The noise level is probably higher than with more enclosed cases.

@@conprika540 It's an amazing case but the front I/O USB cable is pretty thick. I had to get a right-angle adapter for the USB header on my Aorus B550 Pro-P motherboard otherwise the cable kept interfering with the fans on the GPU. Dust could also be be a problem long term depending on your environment; it might need get the dust blown out regularly. That said, it's gorgeous, it fits my Sapphire Nitro 6700XT no problem, and everything stays really cool. Great case.

holy crap i have the exact same gpu and am planning to do a m-atx build for the first time! the aesthetics that come with this case are so pleasing and the fact that you could just carry the pc through your house is cool. its also not obnoxiously big and, as you said, not an rgb explosion.
@SmokeBloody
@SmokeBloody Жыл бұрын
@@conprika540 Sorry for the late reply. The only small downside for me was that cable management is something you'll have to spend your time on in this case. Also, not exactly a con but I added 2x140mm and 2x120mm fans but they lowered the temperature only by a couple degrees Celsius, probably because the mesh walls are doing a good job at ventilating the case already.

ITX outshined it due to the fact that if you are building mATX, it's because you're looking to build something minimal and for a while, ITX didn't offer full feature sets. However, now those boards do and have for quite a while.

I saw this case last year and knew I had to have it, so I bought it. It's absolutely gorgeous. It looks very unique with some RGB in it as the square mesh creates a pixelated effect. I love how my GPU seems to almost fill up the bottom of the case, while not being suffocated at all. I saw someone on reddit who managed to get an extra 120mm fan on the bottom and even one in the front using the rubber anti-vibration mounts. They kind of fit through the mesh of the bottom panel and inner front panel. I did the same so I have 8 fans (4 in, 4 out). I do have a small form factor PSU which helps with the front fan, and you will lose your option to place an SSD there. Also I turned the PSU so it takes in air from the front instead of from the inside of the case. My el-cheapo Artic p12 fans are quiet in this case, but you do hear air flow, but also I don't hear it because I game with my headset on.

I'm so happy that more mATX cases are coming out. I love the smaller size of mATX, but ITX tends to costs as much if not more, and you lose a lot more IO, and I use up all my USB ports. I have one on my bench right now and I've successfully been able to invert the layout by drilling out the 15 rivets holding the rear panel and mobo tray. I had to trim a little bit of material off the rear panel to allow the rivets to align with the top of the case, as well as trimming the motherboard tray lip to accommodate the side panel press-mounts, but it actually works and I'm working on installing dual 360 rads in a custom loop. I was able to re-rivet the case back together and it's hard to tell that it didn't come that way. It's ridiculous how much fits in this case and I love it. Note: Jonsbo sells a variant (D31 Mesh) with a built-in monitor too!

ASUS AP201 is godlike. My 331mm 4090 fits perfectly with the middle PSU position, and the temps are similar to bequiet 500DX. I'm sure I can get them lower with a more aggressive bottom fan curve. AIO compatibility is better as well, even if Arctic's thick radiator makes me route the back fan perpendicular to PCI-E slots. Note that most new mATX boards have an M.2 slot above the x16 slot for GPU. It will be challenging to fit anything under a 3+ slot GPU with such layout, as the GPU effectively starts at the case's second slot. You can see the nano clearance that Kleo Yan has with a 2.5 slot GPU and Phanteks T30 fans when using an M.2 above x16 motherboard in this case. For AM5, the options where the x16 slot aligns with the case's first slot are: 1) ASROCK B650M PG Riptide (barebones) 2) ASUS PRIME B650M-A II (barebones) 3) Any GIGABYTE board (numerous coil whine reports) 4) ASUS X670E Crosshair ($600) 5) ITX boards The rule of thumb: if the middle mounting screws align with the x16 slot, then this is a motherboard with better GPU clearance (and inferior air cooler clearance)

Which Arctic AIO are you using? And which side is it mounted?
@MrEstarion
@MrEstarion Жыл бұрын
@@kaijuTIVI I'm using 280, and top is the only possible placement in this case. With my ITX board, the top corner at the back toward the right panel is extremely stuffed even with tubes coming from the "front" end of the radiator. One of the AIO fans is pressing on the CPU cable to the point that I didn't use the radiator/fan screw there. Routing the back fan cable there would have been too much. I made it go perpendicular to PCI-E slots and into the nearest bottom cable hole to connect into a fan splitter along the outer wall of the right side panel.

Love the case. I would use a hole saw to cut the floor out from under the fans on the bottom. It leaves enough surround to still attach the screws. Plus that bottom filter still works for dust as you are going intake down there. Also you eliminate that whine and improve airflow. Easy mod!

The PSU shroud is a lot easier to remove than the AP201, with the case itself being extremely similar in terms of layout and design aside from the side panel being glass and not mesh. Two things missing from this review and case itself. For one, all of these holes should have been covered by dust filters to reduce its accumulation inside. And second, while you can move PSU bracket, if I recall correctly, you are limited by power cable flex when with 360 rad in the top, eg. you cannot orient the PSU intake towards the front on majority of PSUs, and moving lower would cut on GPU length support.

I only use M-ATX for years now... for me the best size for computers at the moment... Also one of the best cases and not very loved is the TT Core V21... cheap and amazing for all around build.... Horizontal Board placement is the best for air cooling... Not so much tension on the air coolers and even for the gpu the vertical stand is way more stable and secure... It allows 1x200mm, 2x140 or 2x120 on the front, 1x140 on the back, and then on top you can get 2x120 + 2x140. Cons of that case... cheap built panels (mesh, or acrilic)... Not enough mesh filters (but it can be purchased from demciflex) only usb 3.0 ports on the sides. Go ahead purchase one and test it out...

Will you guys do a comparison video between the Asus Prime and the Jonsbo D31? These two cases are very similar to one another, and they have a similar price point, it would be interesting to see some professional opinions. Thanks!

I have a SAMA IM-01 and its main flaw is they didn't offset the bottom fan mounts, so the USB and front panel headers of a mATX mobo conflict with any non-slim fans mounted down there; the AP201 looks like it solves that, but at the expense of giving up the side fan/radiator bracket and flexible PSU cage (SAMA IM-01 is just a mATX clone of the NR200P, so it has the same PSU cage that can be mounted at the front or on the side).

If I had to guess I would say this case's OEM is CoolerMaster. So many things about it are just like my NR200P.

This is the form factor everyone should get tbh unless they have a purpose for the additional PCI-E slots on ATX. Motherboards are cheaper, cases are cheaper, it has plenty of features for 99% of people and it saves space. Quite happy with my Cooler Master NR400 but if this case was out at the time I was shopping for a case it would have been a contender for sure.

been eyeing this for about a year now, the only consideration I did not choose this was the lack of dust filter, also it's awkwardly longer. I dig the aesthetic of this case tho. I went for SAMA IM01 instead

I'm packing this case wtih a Galax 4090 SG. I have about 3cm width and 2cm length to spare. My PSU is hiked to the top and the PSU length allows the GPU to tuck underneath. PSU is a Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1200W. I had to modify the 12+4 GPU connector by removing the glued heat shrink around the GPU side connector. It was too rigid and it wouldn't allow me to put the case side back on. I re-wrapped it with some electrical tape but at 90 deg. I went with this case because mATX is the smallest form factor to support 128gb ram, needed for modelling.

I have two fans on the bottom with no noise. I do have to admit they are Noctua fans with the rubberish vibration pads. It is virtually silent.

This is a beautiful looking case imo 💪🥰. I love my ITX builds, but this is a case that would get me to build a M-ATX pc setup no problem!

Love this case and built my new desktop and HTPC in it this year. Wanted something I could run air cooled almost silently with half the cost and pain of ITX. There's definitely things to consider for air cooling (intake CPU from the rear without a rear fan, and do a bottom to top exhaust flow personally), and PSU size is super important (get a 140-160mm in length max to make your life easier, 180 fits but it's going to take a lot more bundling and smushing) but it's easy to work with overall. Noctua Redux fans have been great for this too, found them to have less noticeable motor noise than the slightly cheaper fans I had installed originally.

I was thinking redux this thing out. Tower cooler and all six fans.
@cinnabarsin4288

@@Michael-pf1in In my desktop I've got 2 NF-P12 on the bottom and 2 on the DeepCool AK620 cooling a 13700K (added the sold separate rubber pads to the cooler fans), and in the top I have 2 NF-S12B and 1 NF-P14S over the PSU. Went airflow focused fans in the top since there's nothing they would really have to deal with resistance wise and the 140MM over the PSU and CPU exhaust gets that heat out of the case like nothing. Have the bottom fans at like 35% fixed, top fans at around 45% fixed, and CPU cooler on a curve. About two feet off to my right on my desk and I can't hear it until it gets under load and then it's mainly the GPU fans anyway. I'm super happy with the Redux performance and being around half the price for like 80%+ of the current gen Noctua performance.

Nice looking case but my biggest issue is lack of dust filters on the sides, may as well just leave them off since dust will easily get inside

If you set your fans up for positive or neutral pressure than dust should not be an issue. You can fit three fans or a 360 rad in the bottom.

I am thinking to go from ATX to mATX because this case seems to help the transition much more than most cases, I have a very expensive Power supply and that alone helps me decide on this because I can keep it.

I like my GAMEMAX BRUFEN C1 - it comes with 4 fans (they're ok too) and it has another larger fan on the side behind the motherboard - keeps the rear of the motherboard cool, great for rear mounted Nvme SSD's 😁😁 My only complaint is I cant mount my 240 AIO up top because of clearance issues with the Motherboard being mounted high up.
