This is an awesome little aircraft. I wish I'd given it attention earlier. I only first crewed it to earn turret gun kills for the Festive Quest, but this thing could have pulled its weight for sure in ground RB. The turret 20mm is not terribly accurate - if you test fly it and just burst fire it directly rearward, the tracers indicate a pretty terrible cone of fire. I expect that would have been due to the way the cannon is mounted. It can't have handled recoil very well.

I always respected this mechanic (pilot injury), no different than flying with no rudder or something. The occurrence for me is rare enough that its not a big deal, however having a bandage mechanic would be neat - reduce dmg a level and more over time for example.

I'm pretty sure the real reason the rear gun can be folded into the fuselage when not is use is primarily for aerodynamic reasons to lower drag and not *purely* for aesthetic reasons.. but then again you never quite know for sure, they're Italians afterall. I really want to play air RB like I used to but every time I think about all the BS it drives me away. Airfield circling, injured pilot making me feel like I am in a tank instead of a plane, space climbing, the inconsistency of base AA. I will play one game of air RB and then encounter one or multiple of these "working as intended mechanics" realize that I'm not having fun and just go back to ground RB. I do seriously love the plane combat in this game, I just think air RB needs some love.

That's what happens to me when I play War Thunder in general... Before the retarded BR system was implimented the game was amazingly fun. These mechanics and systems "working as intended" was fine, because you didn't have 1940 planes fighting 1950 planes. You didn't have super star wars laser accurate gunfire either, and air battles took longer.. hell I remember being able to get into a fight, run out of ammo, land, take off, and do it again 2 times before the battle was officially over. Now its just derp in, abuse broken planes, gg zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Same goes for Ground battles. and dont get me started on the fking helicopters and boats.. steaming pile of shit that has no place in war thunder...

I genuinely enjoy this mechanic however it needs improvement, they should definitely reduce the sluggishness across all "colours " of the damaged pilot and make that the pilot cannot sustain higher g forces (e.g 6-7 g they pass out)

I’d probably remove the part where you are less agile and just add a slow bleeding out mechanic that makes you lose pilot health. Your screen will slowly red out until you lose consciousness and crash. Like the fire extinguisher, you can use a bandage or a medkit but you only have a certain amount. Bombers will have the added benefit of carrying much more medical supplies AND protective flak jackets that reduces their chances of injury.

I think with advances in machine learning it would be easy to feed the data Gaijin already has on players while in the game into a computer to figure out when a kill is a bait or a maneuver kill. Stuff like distance to other players, airplane pitch and speed, whether or not weapons are firing, which player you were last targeting or hit all are used in the current kill/assist determination system and could easily be fed to a computer to figure a set of checks the game can run to figure out which kills are baits and give rewards to the baiter. Vertical stall baits would probably be the easiest to identify.

@@Iridium_yt Hesh probably. But no one drives with Hesh as primary anymore since its crap against anything that isnt light armor. Problem is if you have HEATFS or APDS loaded you need to hit little turret while he goes 70kmh. If you miss you wont do damage. Plus tank have stabilazer and can shoot back real fast. APHE also doest trigger inside it most of time. T30 simply shot that thing, and his APHE goes out from other side without any damage. While shrapnels from penetration is very small due to 25mm armor. Driver and gunners are very separated and between them its nothing but space. So if you aim turret he will most likey escape because he can go 110kmh and reverse is like 40kmh. If you aim for driver again, you will stop him but then get ready for 105mm heatFS with 400mm pen. Same is you aim for engine. Ammo is no-no since it's bugged atm and nothing can trigger explosion.

It’s already implemented in tank battles: a wounded crewmember performs worse than usual. It is quite easy to see if you have a red gunner, because turret traverse gets slower and he doesn’t move the gun on both axis at the same time

It's in ground forces, in a way. An injured gunner won't turn the turret as quickly, injured driver forgets how to shift gears, injured loader reloads slower, etc. One of the reasons why I don't bother buffing vitality in a lot of tanks. Better to have a crew member killed and replaced than alive but injured.

The SM.91 was a quite balanced aircraft. A little slow for 1943 if you want, 10km/h slower than the Me.110 with the same powerplant, but that was the result of it having almost double the range, not of the guns, and it was a better climber. The SM.92 fixed that issue with better aerodynamics.

Also, the ideal climbing speed for prop fighters is measured in IAS, not SPD. This makes a HUGE difference at altitude. At extreme altitudes (~8 to 11+km) the SPD measurement some times is TWICE if not even more than the IAS measure, meaning that at high altitudes you will be much slower than ideal for climbing.

I feel that when the pilot gets shot he should start to bleed, almost like having a fire in tank battles. The pilot will slowly get worse and worse. To fix this you could have a bandage button which could last 5 or 10 seconds and bring your pilots health loss to a halt. While bandaging you have either no control or very minimal control of the plane with reduced input response. Idk if this would work with the game, but go ahead and give me your feedback

Wow, flying a bomber is suicide now. Thanks for making all the work I put into my Bomber crew worthless Gajin. The only thing that was saving me from dying before this update were quick evasive maneuvers. It's a waste of Lions to even fly a bomber anymore because they become even more sluggish when a two millimeter piece of shrapnel lightly grazes the pilot's shoulder.

Well the pilot injury mechanic makes sense if the pilot is bleeding and on pain obviously it will affect his flying skills taking more time to react and can't do high G maneuvers

Phly the mechanic is there because what else is there to do when the pilot is hit. If it wasn’t there you would have no consequence for the pilot being hit beside getting closer to death so I don’t have a problem with it

What if pilot damaged started to fade in after several minutes, so it doesn't disrupt the fight that you're in? It's a frustrating mechanic to suddenly be unable to play the game, but from the other side if you shoot the enemy pilot it feels like it ought to do -something-. Maybe there's a way to accomplish both.

Though I feel that might be a bit awkward to use, and would of course require the killing player to recognise and want to reward the bait.

I don't mind the hurt pilot mechanic really, it makes sense, hence why you have the bulletproof glass in the cockpit. If he gets hit he gets hit, it's realistic (As much as it could be)
