Don't give up on the cooking Gareth I always enjoyed what you did. We all have the odd disaster but what I liked about your cooking videos was like myself you're not a chef just an ordinary guy like the rest of us. Yes we all know the top chefs can do wonders but it was nice to see an ordinary bloke in an ordinary kitchen cooking with ingredients we all have in our cupboards. I hope you have another go soon. A great review m8. This will go great with a nan bread and some Bombay potatoes or Saag Aloo. I often refer it as the " British Curry " as it was created in Scotland, not India. At £2:49? That's good price. Most 'ready meals' are priced at about £3:50 these days. Sure? it could do with more chicken, but as I always pour it over my rice so that the sauce mixes in with the rice, that doesn't bother me too much. If I want to boost it up a bit? I steam off some cauliflower and broccoli and add that in the mix. But so long as it tastes great, well seasoned etc? I'm not going to complain. I know from your previous reviews? If you say it has a decent heat rating? Then it's got to be pretty good. Yeah? I still prefer to make my own curries. But sometimes it"s handy to have something to bung in the microwave if time is a factor. Would I buy this? Most certainly, get a couple for my freezer. My only criticism is the fact that the chicken comes from abroad. I would feel happier if our British farmers were being used and supported.

Brilliant review Gaz….. Sorry if you’ve covered this one before, I’m still in the process of watching your older videos so I’ll find it if you have and it’s far from new, but have you ever tried Charlie Bighams ready meals? They’re a little pricey, for example a Chicken Tikka and rice for 2 is priced at £9.50, but we only ever buy it when on offer (which is very often) at £7.50, so for 2 people it only works out at £3.75 each, not too bad we think. The chicken MELTS in your mouth. We just adore his whole range (does some desserts too), Waitrose have a huge selection of his meals, we usually stock up when there’s good offers all at once but on a regular basis get ours from Sainsbury’s…… if you haven’t tried them, I’d love to hear your thoughts…..his Jalfrezi is a favourite of ours too……thanks Gaz - Jan x❤x. 👍🏻

Contrary to popular belief, chicken tikka masala was never invented in Scotland. It wasn't a case where Ali was sitting at a table with all these ingredients thibking, hmmm you do think, these ingredients, when combined, could result in the creat of a curry?? Do you?? No that never happened. Ali cooked this curry many times in Bangladesh. Mohamad cooked thia curry in Pakistan many times. Mr Singh had cooked this curry in the rural villages of Panjab many times. Mr Ram in south India had cooked it. Mr Patel in central India had cooked it. A Nepalese person had cooked it. An Afghanistan person had already cooked it. A Sri Lankan person had already cooked it. Truth it, this chicken tikka masala had already been cooked in South Asian cou tries even way before partition. It was a staple dish in Northern India. People used left over chicken tikka to make a dish with a lightly spiced tomato sauce. So no, it was never invented in Scotland, but merely the dish was introduced from India to the uk by immigrants.
