When "The Valley Road" was released back in the late 80's, it became a big hit where I live, which is the Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. Here "The Valley Road" is Route 22, and our local Rock radio station made a lot of promos featuring this song and we were all actually loving it. Bruce is such a good person, and also a great musician.

During Bruce Hornsby shows the audience throws written requests of dings they want to hear played. I saw brice when he was a member of the Grateful Dead in 90 and 91. His piano in thh mm e mix was quite refreshing to listen to.

My grandfather used to tell a mule team to walk on. It was the command they knew to start walking to get to work. I imagine the plantation owner telling the hired hand to walk on was his way of saying he was only good enough to be a worker (derogatory comparison to a mule), not be involved with his daughter.

Me too ! His band opened for Grateful Dead in Monterey. Perfect spring day, kickin back on a grassy hillside listening to Bruce was one of my favorite shows ever.
