I have to say I am very impressed with the Power PDR Box. It's nothing like I have used before and will definitely save me tons of time with paintless dent removal. You can purchase this product through powerpdr.net or www.ultradentto...

Thank you for the reply. I am seriously considering purchasing one. But I need to know that it works on large hail dents before I do. Alot of techs out here in Colorado Springs are losing cars to a total loss because the roofs are pushing them over the threshhold and needing replacement or push to paint. If this machine can keep large damage from oil canning, it could be a real game changer in the industry.

If this is basically for oil-canning, in South America they use a regular battery charger to expand and tighten loose metal. They've been doing it for years, this is a waste of money IMO
@denttime
@denttime 5 жыл бұрын
Yes I am aware. However, you can’t control the intensity. You need the control for using different applications like steel, high strength steel, aluminum (which has and needs almost double the current) and chrome bumpers. So you see, when you don’t understand something it’s in our nature to say it’s a waste, it doesn’t work or making excuses to put it down. Until you have truly tried for yourself and compare, how can you make that argument? By the way, I also have one of the first and it has no comparisons and control like this.

Looks good, so every dent needs to be prepped to bare metal on the back side? And it won’t burn the paint? Such as a light color,

I use a Woyo... I love it. I think I am going to have to try one of these now. My favorite use for the inductor is as a supplement to my blending. And I don't usually get oil-canners anyway, but once I started using the Woyo I never get them now. Everyone is afraid to use them because if you don't do it right you can burn the paint, but the same goes for using a heat gun. You just have to learn the right techniques. I use mine on every single car practically, as much or more than I use my glue gun sometimes. If the dents are small enough I can just us the t box and a knock down.

Then, make another video and let us know how long, working with it, it took to produce the new result. I mean, it's GOTTA look better than this, right? I'm pretty sure this unit isn't cheap. I guarantee if these dents were sanded down to the metal from the top after repair there would be paint damage to the under coats. It might look great on top but I bet the e coat and sealer are burned. I may be wrong but it’s something you could demo. When it smokes it’s way too far but paint damage happens before that. It may not fail for a few months or even a year but it will fail.
@denttime
@denttime 6 жыл бұрын
Patrick Day I’m not sure if we are watching the same video? It clearly states, shows and mentions yes the e coat is removed down to bare metal. But that can easily be fixed by reapplying the e coat back on. So I’m not sure what your point is?
@denttime
@denttime 6 жыл бұрын
Patrick Day if you are referring to the primer being damaged under the paint itself, well I’ll keep my hood around. But been doing demos constantly with no indication of paint failure. I knew when I did this review there will be folks out there that are skeptics until they see for themselves. ☺️
@patrickday9692
@patrickday9692 6 жыл бұрын
I’m talking about the top side of the metal. I know it’s removed from the backside that’s no big deal. I am saying the factory under coats on the top side can’t handle this. If you were to sand through the clearcoat and base coat to the factory primer it would more than likely be discolored, burned and bubbled from the metal. These graphite rods do a great job of shrinking the metal. They have been used for years in the auto body industry. Just sand through the top layers of paint after the repair on a junk hood and check it out. I could be wrong but my experience is this will burn undercoats while leaving top coats looking good. The shock technique does and so does the hotbox even with the lightest use. It looks good when done but the paint finish is compromised in this area. I could be wrong. Maybe this machine is the cats meow
@denttime
@denttime 6 жыл бұрын
Patrick Day the hotbox is excessively too hot. This can be controlled very well. Doesn’t even come close to how hot unless a person is neglecting the use. That’s why it’s required to be a Pdr tech so they can monitor the tension and then relax the panel by tapping down pressure. You have a good point however I see no sign of weakness after the use.

@denttime

Yes it could burn the paint but that’s why the experts only use it not to DIY. And to be honest with you a body shop would replace. However, my customers understand that they want to preserve their factory finish because there is nobody shop in the world that can match it and they also lose value.

I can't speak for anyone's horse but mine which is easily lead to a watering hole and will drink as much as the next. The difficulty with your water is the limo ride to the airport, the first class ticket to France, the limo out to the French countryside to spend the weekend at Chateau Evian, where your suite over looks the pure natural springs of Evian where the water du jour is served in a crystal goblet. That all sounds new and exciting and if money was not a factor I'd start learning French and stop wearing deodorant and blame it on the stinky cheese. At the end of the day the presentation maybe a little different, but basically its still just plain water like they have on tap here sans Le Stinky Fromage. This might be a purchse for an auto body shop but not for a mobile pdr tech. *no stinky cheese was harmed, or eaten in the writing of this comment

I've been using the Betag Hotbox since it came out about $4500 and 220 volt. I don't believe you can compare the two, the hotbox is great for very shallow finishing work and this looks like completely different operation. I love my Hotbox but as of tonight, I've decided to order a Power PDR Box, so many years of fighting large stretched dents I can hardly wait to get it.

sean s don’t just take my word. I’m sure if you go on Facebook and ask around on the dent groups you’ll find most people who own it find it a very good investment. Not going take miracles out but definitely will cut down repair time and even save a roof from push to paint or replacing.
