10:45, Botswana 🇧🇼 & Zambia 🇿🇲 have since since built a massive Bridge there, no longer using pontoons. Lovely, watching from Botswana & I really envy Nimrod because people often think in Africa we have animals at our backyards. Those us from Southern Botswana usually get to see this animals in our adult age as tourists. My first time was when I was 13 on a school trip to Kasane, best days of my life.Since then fell in love with nature and peace on Northern Botswana

Not true that hunting of all species of animals is outlawed in Botswana. There is a very good conservation policy in Botswana, which has allowed the all flora and fauna to flourish - hence the high numbers of elephants. There is legal hunting which is seasonal and based on the numbers of animals and carrying capacity of the land. This quota takes into account natural mortality of species too. About 15% of the country is set aside for wildlife conservation, and more animals can be kept in suitable farms and ranches, adding to the 15% land area. These farms must not exceed their carrying capacity either, to ensure that land is not degraded to the point where it will not support all dependent species of vegetation and animals. Poaching is illegal.
