I know a lot of people don't know of how the Gustavian Swedish antiques are supposed to actually look like, so i have to praise you for bringing back the authentic dignity of this piece. You captured the years of wear and the complex patination that this period of furniture is know for.... { although the top drawer wouldn't have knobs, they used the key alone as the pull.} Beautiful job !

What a huge bummer. You had the chance to turn this into something gorgeous.

I love the fact that u removed all that paint 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼but when u had the lovely wood back, I don’t understand why u painted it that pink & the blue inside instead of finishing that natural wood?

I love your craftsmanship, but I can't even pretend to like the "finish" on this piece.

Wow that must have taken you days and endless patience to remove all that paint 😮 I will be honest it's not something I would ever have BUT I know you restored it to it's original colour etc and you have some talent there. Making a key for it definite 😮😮😮

So I understand painting it, because you put in the title that this was originally a painted piece. I do think it would have turned out better with a solid color and not the pink wash. The work you did is very impressive, but the aesthetic is just not my cup of tea.

Not sure about this result? But I do admire your dedication to work.

He re-did it to refect the original pink and blue finish. It's not ruined, if you want to make it to your own taste that is still possible.

стоило столько скоблить чтобы потом снова краской заляпать такую красивую фактуру дерева

Sorry, I just cannot say I like that finish. I have never liked painted furniture. It looks like what we call in America "Shabby Chic". Usually made by people painting over furniture to make it look better. Your other work is just amazing though.

interesting piece, but I don't like the final external finish. It has an incomplete look about it.

You used the term "restoration" in your title. Not sure if you felt this was a restoration, or using the term as clickbait, but your after isn't a restoration. This is not how the piece would have been originally completed and sold in the 18th century. The labor, dedication and process you showed was great, and its clear that viewers were rather disappointing to see the end result.

I’m not sure why I watched that. It looked better before all that work.

Pine “sturdy”??? Pine is soft and weak. Why you came back with that paint job is a mystery. You should have cleaned it and sanded it well, after scraping off that hideous paint and then come back with stain, topped with an oil finish.
@runedyrting84762 күн бұрын
What on earth are you doing? You get rid of all the paint and then you smear a little bit of paint all over the place. Looks horrible!
