I bet several of these or like these joined together would make a gorgeous club table or dining table. Or even kitchen counter top. But the amount of time and craftsmanship put into it... Man, you have my greatest respect!

Believe it or not, this video just popped onto my feed, and I'm glad it did. You sir are one hell of a craftsman . I enjoyed every minute of this performance that you put on, and am now a subscriber to your channel and I'm sure I'll enjoy watching what else you created. One of these days I'm gonna give this here a try. Good luck in life and stay safe.

Absolutely beautiful work! I was so inspired by this piece that I made one. The small strips of wood were made from black walnut and I used ash for the contrasting color(s). When it was done, my wife insisted that I enter the cutting board in the Ventura County Fair competition. I did and the cutting board took 1st place...thanks

Thank you, a very good quality UTube video, pleasant music; very relaxing to watch you do all this work! Watched beginning to end and expect to attempt this in the future. Lots of work, steps, sanding, gluing but end result is incredible and worth the effort. Just nice to see craftsmanship, humbleness, and a wonderful work effort. Thanks again for sharing, subscribed. How long did you let your glue-ups dry before sawing the ends flush / doing the angle cuts? I usually let them dry overnight, which would make this project take weeks (which it may have). Honestly great work man!
@bobbg90416 жыл бұрын
Wow nice looking cutting board That was a lot of glue up and cuts. I hope your making really good money making those. I had one idea to bring just a little more bling to it, on the maple strips add a red color wood like cherry but reverse your spirel out pattern or 0 so if your eyes connect the dots you see a hidden pattern, now that's going to take a hell of a lot more work but it can be done prior to dealing with the spiral pattern its just a matter of lining things up.

Did you make anything with the triangle falloff? Make a shim jig to turn the falloff into a 10(?) Sided board, one glue up with ratchet strap for that one and it'd look awesome. I feel like this movie would be ten minutes shorter if we didn't see every single tiny table saw adjustment after every single glue up lol. Cool thing is knowing there is no need for measurements on any squares, just eyeball close enough. Looks good though.

I really like the looks of the crosscut sled you are using. Especially the plexiglass top. Any videos or plans for making that?
@rbwoodcreations10395 жыл бұрын
I actually watched other folk's videos on making a crosscut sled, then added the guard later. I used shatter-resistant plexiglass and gave it enough width to cover my face when I'm close to it aligning cuts. It works really nice for when I need to adjust a cut while using shims on a piece and I need to lean in close to see the alignment while the saw is running.

I make a lot of cutting boards, well, a dozen a week or so. This is an awesome board and I watch a lot of MTM video, the guy is the best there is. But on a board like this, with the time and materials, what would you have to sell it for to come out on it ?
@reubenbrauer73166 жыл бұрын
Mike Neuhaus in all honesty, I don't make a lot on them. Typically these will go for 150-200 for ones around 17" x 17" or so. I know that Andrei(mtmwood) can sell them in the 200-300 range throughout Russia and the EU. A bit tougher to command those prices here in the states though.

what is the angle of the cuts?
@RobertoRMOLA4 жыл бұрын
I know that it would substantially increase the quantity of work, but (in my opinion) the white wood should have been cut with end grain up as the darker one, enabling all the advantages an end grain cutting board can provide.

What angle were you shooting for? Or did you just decide on certain size squares?
@reubenbrauer73166 жыл бұрын
MrE2112 the angle is dictated by the size of the square. Since they're squares, I just use a square to draw out the next cut lines based off what will fit within the outer strips.
