Excellent and helpful video. Minor correction is that you give dimensions for the distance around the devices but actually that dimension is the diameter, not the circumference.

I have one question, you touched on commute and being able to add it to a routine, I set up my commute but do not see how to add it to my morning routine. Commute is not an option when I look in my routine, I do see one that says traffic, I’m a little confused any help would be appreciated.

@@trudence2436 Thank you for sharing. I only have the Echo 4 Gen, the mailbox sensor & the ring bridge. I was told Alexa would pick up the sensor. I’ve added both devices to the app but only my ring app makes the notification. I’ve called Amazon but no luck, I was chatting with them for 3 hrs before they could give me a ticket to their advance tech team. I’m still waiting for someone to help me and this was on Friday. Terrible!

Question - I have two pairs of Echos. Two 4th Gen E Dots. Two 4th Gen. Echos. One set for the Den and one set for my work-shop. One set pairs up as “Stereo Pair with ease. But, the App will not allow a second “Stereo Pair”. Am I doing something wrong? When I call A. Support, they are no help. They start dodging my question, I think the do not understand my dilemma. How, would want stereo in two locations. I also find it difficult to voice instruct what music I wish to hear. No Alexa but me. Maybe I just never simply want some “Dance” music. And, as I am older, I have like approaching 80 years of music to pull from (60 years old and all of my parents music). I feel lost simply trying to recall what I may want; whereas, I am very comfortable choosing from my Amazon Music Account that has literally thousands maybe ten thousand pieces of music from Vivaldi to Mo Keb.

According to the app the speakers must be in the same room to use stereo, just create a speaker group instead and add the 2 speakers you want to play.

@@TechSteve I factory reset it twice and still nothing. It won't connect to my wifi at all. The only time it connects is when a wifi called Amazon-BAD pops up but there's no connection. Blue tooth pairing isn't working either.

Thanks Steve! You are a peach! The sound is great & inclusion of a hub. Response time seems to have quite a big delay. I'm suddenly having issues with it not being able to recognize artists & names of songs. I'm receiving lots of errors using Amazon music. For some reason, it keeps trying to switch me to pandora. What the heck? Big con: you cannot use the remote with it! WTH!!? I'm back to yelling at Alexa? I have several extra remotes & wanted to use with my Echo 4 & Echo Show 8. NEITHER CAN UTILIZE A REMOTE! WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?? I'M TIRED OF YELLING AT MY DARN SPEAKERS! IF I'M IN ANOTHER ROOM, I NEED MY REMOTE! IF I'M IN MY BATH RELAXING, I NEED TO USE MY REMOTE! 2nd con: cannot see the light rings. Seems like they designed it for the only effective use to be on a mirror. What were they thinking? All they would have had to do is add a simple more stabilized base to prevent it from rolling off shelves & cracking on the floor & then we could also see the colored rings. I have to look at my Echo 2nd gen for the rings. No battery charger back up so l can move it around like l do with my Echo 2nd gen. Big problem. Con: black speaker was shipped with a white cord just like your sample. WTH? Why on earth? So, without my echo 2nd gen with the charged battery to make it portable & my remote so l don't have to yell & need to see colored rings, white power cord with black speaker. 2nd gen will never roll away and fall off your cupboard or desk, shelf. So a lot of cons with this device. They really ought to get women engineers as designers for their products. No female engineer would ever have allowed these design flaws to get through to final products. Perhaps that sounds sexist, but it is a fact. Females notice those little things. Bottom line: Echo 4 does sound much much better than 2nd gen & does have a hub, and buying around Thanksgiving gave me a great price & included 2 free 60 watt smart bulbs. But not being able to use a remote is killing me! I hate yelling at my speakers! 😢 I'm going to contact Amazon to see about acquiring a black cord instead of the white.

@gary it connects to your phone temporarily to install the wifi settings then after that step it connect to the amazon services. You only need your phone to program new features. Press And hold the dot button for about 15sec until you see the orange and try again.
