What do you guys think of eero vs other WIFI mesh systems?

Bought one 2 weeks ago and retired my 5-year-old Night Hawk. The setup was a breeze and I'm 71. I reused my ID and PW and EVERYTHING connected. My speeds improved from LOW 2xx Mbps to HIGH 3xx Mbps. I have Spectrume's 300 Mbps service. And it reminds me of my old Apple AirPort Extreme. I only needed ONE eero. Packaging was very Apple-like.

I found a great speed increase on my remote/repeater Eero Pro 6, if while using a wifi connection to my main Eero, I connect a a computer to the remote Eero's ethernet port via an ethernet cable! I'm coming for an older Netgear Orbi system, with fewer extenders. I'm sure the newer Netgear Orbi systems would be great too. But I went with what my new Internet provider uses.

He mixed up bytes and bits. The speed is not a "thousand megabyte per second" but "a thousand megabit per second". A byte is equal to 8 bits. Speeds are measured in bits per second, while file sizes are measured in bytes. So if a movie is 1GB in size, this is a thousand megabytes, and it would take 8 seconds to download this if your speed was a 1000 Mb/s.

So quick question, and I'll admit I've not read through the comments below to see if somebody already asked this... But are you saying that if you do not have Ethernet cable run to multiple rooms or floors in your home, you can still hook up this system by connecting one of the Eeros to your fiber router and the other two connect within the system using Wi-Fi only?

Im just trynna figure out one thing. My kitchen is a deadzone. theres no plug on the wall of my kitchen that has like a ethernet cable conmection? how do i use this

Hello Simon. Great KZbin channel. I just reviewed your eero Pro 6 and eero Pro 6e review. Both very helpful. I'm leaning towards the Pro 6. Question ... did you bridge your AT&T gateway?

We have the eero Pro 6 and are only getting up to 180 megabits per second on download speed. Another issue is that our devices sometimes connect to the furthest eero system and gives us poor internet. What else can we do with this product to get the advertised speeds?

I recently had ATT FIber installed and bought a EERO Pro 6 (2 pack) for my setup. I cannot get the EERO to connect to my BGW320-500 supplied by AT&T. I see some folks are going into the settings of the AT&T router and turning a bunch of stuff to “OFF”. Did you have to change any of those settings to get it to connect? Frustrated in Texas

Call att they’ll do it for you over the phone.

Then off firewall, put it through pass through but the only issue I’m having is my upload speed drops… for a week I had 900 up and down now it’s 100 up and 800 down

I called EERO and they said it wasn’t necessary to put it into pass through mode. The tech told me I need to set up a separate name for the mesh network and sign in to that. He actually did that for me and everything seems to work well. I now have the main router WI-FI and the EERO that can be connected to.

@@marklift the tech disable the Wi-Fi and just made it into a modem and now the eeros are a standalone router.

@@johan2sr I called EERO customer service. They were able to get me set up without the pass through mode (I think). They set up a second Wifi login directly to the EERO. They were very helpful! I suggest giving them a call.
