Dogs have legitimately saved people and can do amazing things even humans can't. Most people can't *SMELL* cancer, most people can't *TELL* when someone with a chronic condition is gonna pass out in 5 minutes. Let's not forget travel dogs like sled dogs being used to transport medicine through the harsh blizzards, or dogs who dig out people buried by avalanches. Service dogs that guide the blind and disabled, dogs on the police force, military dogs, herding dogs who fight off entire packs of coyotes, dogs that can smell literal *B0MBS!* I could go on. 'I can hardly remember it now... I was delirious...' ah, man, take responsibility. He says this decision was 'given to' him (and he again mentions his young age). No, you put yourself willingly in that situation, and willingly took the decision. Which is fine, but you're now doing all you can linguistically to frame yourself as passive.

You say this, but have you been in a life or death situation where you're confronted with such a choice? Under the delirium of a deadly disease? I doubt it. You lack perspective, as do I, which is why it's important to keep an open mind when listening to the lived accounts of those who have been in these situations.

@@jakealcock5905 you’re being so dramatic - this is not a yes or no question (ie - eat dog and see family and live happily ever after -or- don’t eat your dog and die). I mean, you can eat tree bark and grass and bugs and whatever else to survive if you have to. You can try harder to find and kill other animals to eat.
