Should have taken the time to learn about the environment, you shouldn’t go somewhere like this without being confident you can survive on your own and know the risks. So sorry to the wee dog 🤍

You clearly think that eating an unknown amazonian plant vs a dog is safe and realistic choice? You clearly never was in a situation sick, alone and desperate. Even if he learned about them from books and stuff, being alone in a dark and damp forest where you hardly see, I think you do make choices that don't fit the western mindset. I wouldn't be so judgemental.

@ Ok. Well that’s your opinion so whatever, you want a certificate? . The point is they are not unknown. You identify the plant, it’s not that hard. Yucca root for starters, that’s packed full of carbs & vitamins. Acai berries…most idiots could identify both of these. My point is that he should have learnt about where he was going to… especially given his goal. Food sources. How to make a fire. How to use trees etc to make a shelter. The very basics!!! Or he could just tell his boo hoo story about eating his dog. Which he puked up and didn’t actually consume.

You also can't just pretend that they mean nothing because they're "just a dog". It's not about just "being given a name and letting it sleep on your bed", you build a bond, a trust with them. Dogs have legitimately saved people and can do amazing things even humans can't. Most people can't *SMELL* cancer, most people can't *TELL* when someone with a chronic condition is gonna pass out in 5 minutes. Let's not forget travel dogs like sled dogs being used to transport medicine through the harsh blizzards, or dogs who dig out people buried by avalanches. Service dogs that guide the blind and disabled, dogs on the police force, military dogs, herding dogs who fight off entire packs of coyotes, dogs that can smell literal *B0MBS!* I could go on. @@mimrexis that somehow a valid excuse to kill and eat another living feeling being? One that completely trusts you and is no harm to you and just wants to stay by your side? How would you feel if after a few years of adventure and travel!! You were killed and eating for someone else “survival” would you think that’s fair? Hypocrite.

@@mimrex To a dog, yeah, that's nothing. A more interesting question to me is to what extent taking the life of a being who has little concept of future planning (discuss) is unethical, IF it's entirely painless.

Haven't watched this video yet, just the opening comment but I'm thinking of all the wildlife and bugs in the amazon rainforest, you decide to spend your energy killing your dog?

No, you can judge. He chose himself over morality and acts as if it was “necessary.” Stop.

@@OfficialBigDaddyBC he started to get some sponsors for his big expeditions but the adventures he had living with various tribes was done cheaply, he pretty much bought a flight to the place and then moved in with the local tribes. If you're living off the land then you don't need that much money to get by, especially in a country where your currency goes a mile where the local currency gets an inch. It also wasn't his hobby, but his job. He monetized his adventures by making a documentary.

Ok, so... he's inconvenienced others (and no doubt taken their resources) and caused the death and suffering of his 'friend', in the service of his own entitlement and because of his own hubris. What has he contributed? I haven't finished the interview yet - maybe that will be revealed...

'I can hardly remember it now... I was delirious...' ah, man, take responsibility. He says this decision was 'given to' him (and he again mentions his young age). No, you put yourself willingly in that situation, and willingly took the decision. Which is fine, but you're now doing all you can linguistically to frame yourself as passive.
