yeah...would be nice if they would stop making cameras on cheap tablets like these. Like at this price point the cameras aren't going to be too useful because of the low quality, most of our phones... even outdated, probably have better quality, and with the size. More practical. The only people who would use the camera, are kids and the rare occasion someone would want to video chat or something with it. They should include something we might actually use more often instead.

I did not know how useful the camera is. There are actully Apps that can use it for scanning and other stuff that recquire a camera. Maybe there could be a model that is cheap with a good screen and doesn't have a camera and you know that you will use it only for things that dont need one.

Having a front facing camera is great with Skype/Video Chatting with friends and family. Rear Camera I think is not really needed.

EXACTLY! i just bought 3 7s at beast buy for $39 and an 8HD for $49. crappy plastic cameras started at $600 and they overheat and shut off after 20 minutes of shooting video. The tablets record until the memory is ALL used. LOL

just got mine today at best buy for $33. was a choice between this and the digiland. only real difference is the price both had bluetooth and everything needed. digiland one was $40. the fire can even install android apps so for those that dont know this the fire runs a custom version of android just search for apks, install a file manager from amazon store then install apks. no issues yet and pairs with my moga hero and headset without issues and build quality is nice so im happy. also for google play services if you get errors there are plenty of videos and guides on how to install services and you dont need root.

I'm getting this for Christmas and I have an iPad from 2011 with a ppi of 132 I think. Then I have an iPhone 4 and iPhone 5 which have like 326 ppi. So on one hand I will see the screen difference to my iPhone's but it will be a lot better than my iPad which has a cracked screen anyways and a lot of backlight bleeding and dead pixels.

I just want to say that this video was much better quality than I expected. The camera quality is very good and the b-roll footage during the narration immersed me into the review and made it look very professional. Though some small criticism, this video would be even better if your narration was a little more crisp. If you don't know what I mean, check out some or Marques Brownlee's (MKBHD) videos. Your styles are pretty similar and you probably could further improve your videos by seeing what someone who is more successful than you currently is doing. But other than that, great video, keep it up! :)

If I’m being honest I have one of these and its AWSOME! The iPad is so smooth and downloading thing is as easy as clicking your fingers! This man is describing the display as kinda bad but from my point of view it’s perfect 👌 I also have a iPad mini but preferably I use the Firefox! But for parents reading this it would be perfect for a young child under 4 or even over 4 because it is super simple to use. If anyone has any questions just put them below !

I just picked this up today for 40 dollars and I don't have ant complaints so far. I already have a smartphone and I didn't want to dish out a lot of money for a tablet. the screen res isn't the best but its not bothersome (coming from someone who loves tech). the best thing j did to this thing so far was rooting it, replacing the amazon launcher with a different one and getting google play services. you can score a decent android tablet for 40 dollars if you plan on using it for basic things.

I personally love the kindle and in many ways feel it is better than other tablets. It is much more portable than other tablets and amazon basically just gives them away and there are only a couple downsides which I never realized except for the heating problem. I have realized that.

I have one of these that I'm planning to give to my inlaws for Christmas. The only problem I have is that it can't mirror the video to the TV. I even tried an USB-HDMI cable I bought at Best Buy and it doesn't work. They watch a lot of video on foreign stations (and you can do this trough apps in their app store) but not on the big screen. We watch most of our TV through the amazon app, CBS and PBS apps on our ipad and it's great.

I bought my Kindle fire Tuesday. Besides how long it takes to charge and the lock screen ads I really like it.i had a galaxy tab 4 the battery life on it wasn't very good an neither was the sound. But that's not the case with the kindle fire. It is actually fairly easy to get the Google Play Store on the tablet (no root needed) just watch a KZbin video for it

Not even on a tight budget, I just already have a Galaxy note 8 for my games and everything, I just got this because I needed a slightly bigger screen that I didn't feel too guilty if I dropped. It's about what you'd expect from $50 in 2018, nothing special, which I think is the point. Amazon didn't want this to be the next big thing, their obvious goal here is to wean people into the nicer tablets in the future.

Good review, speaking voice, and speaking speed. I have the Kindle 10, Kindle 8.9, Kindle 8, and Kindle 7, so I will get this new one to see how they all compare. What will Kindle think of next? You did excellent job also of reviewing the features. I have brought and sold and given these away so I feel like a kid again.

You're welcome. Oh, I forgot. The Kindle 7 I have is the Kindle 7 HDx 3rd generation which I don't think they make anymore but has the dolby sound dual speakers and 2 GB ram and screen resolution 1920 x 1200, reduced glare, built in dual microphone. I am NEVER getting rid of this one! Seems like Amazon has now downsized the Specs.
