As someone who values good picture (at least within the confines of what this model can provide), but is not overly technical in how I conceptualize things, this was extremely helpful.

Just got this tv in 43” for my bedroom to replace a great but aging Sony 1080P TV, and so far I’m thrilled. The picture is quite nice with a few custom settings and the Alexa integration is very cool. For the price, it’s really nice! Thanks for this video! Really helpful.

Just got a 55" delivered this morning, this is a fantastic guide, thank you! I *almost* went for the 65" for the dolbyvision, but realized I don't watch enough tv to warrant the extra cost. Nice upgrade from a 43" for my living room though :)

I am considering getting the 55” as well to replace my 43” 1080p tv. Do you still like this tv after having it for a couple months?
@Merglet2 жыл бұрын
@@blueeyedtech1234 Yep, like it just fine! Definitely a big upgrade from my basically the same tv as yours, the tweaks here definitely helped. I've noticed the 65" is on sale (where I live anyhow), so if you notice it is where you live, might be worth the extra $, but the 55 is darn good for the money
@michaelbell752 жыл бұрын
Did the same because DV doesnt really matter on this TV since its not capable of 12 bit DV. Its running it at 10 bit which is the same as HDR10. You might see a difference running DV and HDR10 side by side but its negligible in most cases.

Yeah, I would have hoped that came before going through the picture settings - seeing how it compares to the TCL 5 and 6 series (since it seems like it is a TCL) would be great - I almost pulled the trigger on the pre-order and missed a smoking good price on the 55" but just couldn't jump in without seeing reviews. I'd love to also see how this compared to the Hisense U6G series as Costco has a 55" coming up in a couple weeks for a decent price with 5 yrs of warranty

How do we zoom in for cable tv? I’m having an issue with that. The words are cut off on top, bottom and sides of the screen were we can’t even see them. I’m payee around with the settings and researched how to change it but still can’t find what I’m looking for. We’re about to return this thing bc it’s very annoying. Other then that the tv is great. But this is a major issue. We got the 65” for reference. So if anyone can please help me figure this out I would greatly appreciate it.

same issue, it's been escalated up the chain at amazon support, i'm supposed to hear back tomorrow on this. even the tech guy i spoke with was completely horrified and confused about the lack of aspect ratio settings on a brand new tv. bare minimum it's been standard since the DAWN OF TV to have a Normal/Zoom/Fill/Full options for aspect ratios so that when you're watching an ultra wide format movie you can choose to fill the screen and not lose 6 inches of screen to black bars.

There really is no such thing as a soap opera effect as depicted several years back, I have seen this and looks like people are 3d, you could see around them a bit. I liked that. Now, what is called the soap opera effect just means they are more sharply defined. The extreme form I saw several years back has been removed. Which, I think is a pity, what we want is 3d tv without the glasses.

Makes movies look fake
@reghunt24872 жыл бұрын
No that's not the soap opera effect. The SOE is interpolation of lower frame rates to 120 fps, "smoothing out" motion that would be missing at lower rates. It makes certain things look "too realistic", for example it makes old movies look like they were shot on video (just like old soap operas which were at a higher frame rate than film). It doesn't add any 3D effect, nor is it about definition. It's all about motion.
