I purchased tools both from Amazon and from local stores. I only purchased some items from Amazon that were not available in local stores. For tools, I always purchased them from local stores such as Harbor Freight, and Home Depot, even at higher prices to keep them and the local economy going. For some pricey tools, I purchased them through Home Depot's online market, where I got exactly brand-new, unopened items, and with better warranty. Folks keeps complaining about bad local economies, but at the same time, they are the same one who purchased stuff elsewhere.

Home Depot has some good deals on tools and batteries in kits. I worry about buying power tools via Amazon. If it's sold BY Amazon, okay, but lots of tools come from who knows where. I suspect some of them are counterfeit or stolen from big box stores, so if the deal is too good, I don't trust it.

Amazon has a lot of resellers that can sell legit products, but they are going to be cheaper. Good lucky trying to get a warranty on any of them. I bought a Milwaukee 12v drill for half of what it cost at HD. It was legit and fine, but I did take a small risk in doing so.

Then chinese dewalt knock off batteries are made ofthen with cheaper cells providing less life and power output, they skip on battery safety features. Their plastic case is not as durable. Mashines missing some features like kickback protection or overheating protection etc.

The issue with Amazon is that it is a huge risk. There are A LOT of fake batteries and tools on there. And multiple times I got USED Dewalt tools packaged as brand new... even ones that were shipped/sold by Amazon and not a 3rd-party.

Totally agree. I'd never buy anything of value from Amazon. Chinese knock-offs, that's why they're so much cheaper. I must have TRZ confused with someone else, he's not a Milwaukee fanboy but does support them too as they are very good. Same with DeWalt and Makita. Even Harbor Freight has the decent Hercules line, though I've never bought those.

While Amazon does offer a big selection of items at good prices, their incidence of counterfeit items is also high. Case in point, I was looking at some Milwaukee items and Amazon's prices seemed great. In looking a little closer, the batteries which were identified as Milwaukee items were in fact a knock off made to look like the genuine Milwaukee item. Buyer beware.

That's one of my top favorites for Ryobi. By all means, if you're looking for a single, or possibly a couple lights, go with whatever your primary battery line is. If you need more lighting/jobsite/for multiple crews... Ryobi, lumen for Dollar is really hard to argue with. Their 3k lumen three panels go on sale a few times a year and are awesome.

I too much prefer a brick and motor store. I have 0 patience or planning ahead and I'm the type of person that has to use whatever tool I just bought when I get into my truck if I haven't already. Issue is brick and motor stores seem to be responding to online retailers by raising their prices even higher. I'm constatnly buying car parts and more often then not I can buy an oem part from amazon for less than the local parts store generic part. Rockauto also embarasses my local parts stores prices. Not sure about DeWalt, I'm betting their warranty policy is the same as Milwaukee. I spoke with Milwaukee just the other day (11/4/24) regarding the warranty on a $300 M18 12V battery and they do NOT honor warranty on their tools sold through Amazon under any circumstance as they are not an authorized dealer. Even if sold by an authorized dealer through Amazon, if Amazon is the final seller...no warranty. Just food for thought.

Well here is a little ditty we started out with buying DeWalt tools we were in the platform and then our truck got hit one night by a few fellas and they walked away so being with times were and how skinny or money was we had to switch to Ryobi and we have stuck with Ryobi because of how many tools they keep putting out all different kinds of new tools over the years more than most of the other companies and it's just some of these tools we had to make an adjustment to because we never ran them before like an isolating tool that's something new to us so once we learn how to use it and found that you'd buy really good blades like diablos we were on track taking trim out putting trim in it was awesome so now Ryobi has slowed down and it seems as though they are still inventing new tools so we are trying to stay in ryobi's platform but thank you for letting us know about the other tools it's always good to know what's new with other tools thank you for sharing and this was just my opinion keep those videos coming

I went to customer service and asked if they price match and they said yes, Ok Walmart next door is selling it for $35. They said no they do not price match Walmart. I buy makita and festool, but I have all the Milwaukee finish nailers. I 100% agree with the brick and mortar, and spending your money locally. Problem #1, not even the specialty shops will have new stuff on day one release day unless you go in there two weeks prior and request one to be ordered. Problem #2 the employees aren’t as into the tool as you might be at the time you’re in the store so you can’t expect them to be up to speed on new stuff. After stuff has been out a while, online and online exclusives will be the way to go. Same with batteries.

That impact driver for $80 bucks to me and for what i need it for is a steal I already have a drill and was wanting to stay on that platform but was just too expensive for me to get other tools when other brands were cheaper with the batray, so I will be getting that turkey!
