This inexpensive synthetic puffy jacket from Amazon is really better than the price suggests. gokzo.com hemlockmountai...

I bought this jacket the night you uploaded the first video for this back in September, and it's been absolutely incredible! I've had it down in the teens with 4 layers. The only regular wear is some of the stitches are starting to come a bit loose. I'm flip-flopping the AT this year and I'm definitely packing this.

It goes with me now on so my trips. I'll use it as a pillow sometimes too.

Thanks for making this. Just bought one of these for winter camping in northern AZ as an insulation layer.

Nice, I used mine quite a bit when I was visiting the Grand Canyon a couple winters ago

Jackets are interesting...a lot of mine are cheezy off brand. Aside from weight, they seem to work well. Good review of this one.
@KurtZitzelman3 жыл бұрын
They're probably all made in the same factory. It all comes down to the quality of insulation.

Just purchased for my boys. I hope they at least wear it. Awesome review and I am happy with the purchase.

This has become my go to jacket unless it's super cold (10F or below) and windy.

man it would have helped me so much if you'd just written the size in your description so I knew the size for your fit

This was mostly a follow up video about the jacket, but within the first 30 seconds I purposely hold up the jacket showing the brand name and size.

I had the hoodless version for $39 and it was a great deal but I found the hooded version and clicked around to various colors and got it for $17 which is a screaming deal. If you wanted more packability and less weight then the down Decathlon Forclaz 100 would be the way to go.

I'm still pretty happy with this jacket. While I have nothing against down, it think it has too many down sides for the price.

just ordered the hooded before watching this, glad I did, I'm retired and my older style Carhartt is too heavy

The hooded version looks nice too, I usually wear a hoody under mine so the extra hood isn't needed for me.

Nice budget buy. I've thought about having it around as an extra or a loaner for others but Its not packable enough to be my go to. Goose Down is sill king Don't you make hammocks?
@KurtZitzelman Жыл бұрын
For the price I don't think this can be beat. Goose down is nice, but synthetic is still way more durable in terms of prolonged compression and I never have to worry about poking a hole in my jacket and my insulation falling out. Just those 2 reasons are enough to deal with a little less compact-ability. Yes I do make hammocks, Hemlock Mountain Outdoors

They are definitely worth the money I think. Headed home now from the Ice Age Trail... Should have a sweet shirt waiting for me when I get home.

I tried one but it was too snug under the arms when wearing over a sweater or sweatshirt. They need to make the arm holes bigger or add some gusseting.
@KurtZitzelman Жыл бұрын
Maybe I got one that was a little bigger? I haven't had an issue while wearing a hoodie underneath. But, I'm sure at the price they sell them for quality control isn't the highest and sizing differences get through.

@@KurtZitzelman Right. I might try ordering again. Otherwise, it was just what I wanted..

Is it suitable for temperatures of -2ºC min and 8ªC max ? in 2 weeks Im going to Belgium and Im considering this instead of bringing my heavy jacket. I will most likely use it with thermal underwear as base layer and a fleece jersey as mid layer. No heavy activites , just walking around the cities. Right now its €19 for my size and I feel like its a steal.
@KurtZitzelman Жыл бұрын
It doesn't have any kind of temperature rating, which makes me think the amount/style/quality of the insulation may vary from jacket to jacket, but having said that... if I'm just in town, I've used this down into the high teens Fahrenheit (-10C to -7C I think). So, with the base layer, fleece and this you should be OK.
@latestreviews6682 Жыл бұрын
Hey man nice video, can you tell in what temperature it will work batter because it doesn't says on the web cite. Can you wear this in -15.
@KurtZitzelman Жыл бұрын
I've worn mine down into single digits (Fahrenheit) with base layers under it and been ok, I seem to have a higher tolerance for cold than most people though. I don't think I'd wear it for any length of time any colder than that.

It’s called a Puffer Jacket. Not Puffy!!
@KurtZitzelman Жыл бұрын
Actually it's called either depending on where you're from, or both by some companies. Some folks call them puffs or poofs or poofy, some folks are called people. Some people say soda, some say pop, others say cola. Around here we say Appalachian as App-uh-lay-shun, other places say App-uh-LATCH-un. We also say hoagie instead of sub or grinder. Some people put an R in wash.. warsh... that's weird right? I guess the point I'm making is... who cares? Happy New Year... or is it Happy New Years? Hmmm

Sorry, I figured most people know how to put a jacket on. This was more about the jacket itself
