There are two types of peaches: freestone and cling. Cling peaches do no release the stones. Freestone are very easy to release.

Correct. Freestone peaches are white. And yes the pit "clings" to flesh of yellow peaches.

Exactly. And freestone peaches are already easy to halve with a knife. Clingstone peaches are the one a tool would be helpful for, so if it doesn't work with those, it's useless! Or at least no more useful than all those various avocado tools.

There are two types of peaches -white are table eating and yellow are canning.
@bloodgain
@bloodgain 5 ай бұрын
@@EmeraldHill-vo1cs I'm not sure who started that, but it's not true _at all._ I live in one of the biggest peach-producing areas of the country, and color has nothing to do with whether peaches are good out-of-hand. Most peaches are yellow, including most varieties that are great eaten fresh. White peaches tend to be more mild and delicate in texture, so they often don't hold up as well when cooked, so the only true part about that is that white peaches are usually better eaten raw than cooked with. However, the yellow peaches you get in the store usually aren't very good, because the varieties are chosen for transportability and picked way under-ripe, so those usually _are_ best processed or cooked with sugar. But a yellow peach at a farm stand within 50 miles of where it was picked will probably be the best thing you ever put in your mouth.

This was my thought exactly. These products are not really fixing a true issue. Most of these products you can easily do with a simple knife or a rag or a towel. The bag thing can be fixed with putting socks into a drawer and just using reusable bags, the peach and watermelon thing can be done with a knife, the popsicle and washer thing can be done with a rag.

I think for that laundry door proper you would put the magnet end on the face of the washer, not where the door closes. Then the flexible arm bends to prop the door and you bend it out of the way without removing the magnet base to close the door.

@@PrincessLorie We use several things for migraines because it runs in the family. Unfortunately, one of the members of our family is a Type 1 Diabetic and getting migraines so bad that they cause vomiting sends them into a debilitating spiral that they end up going to the ER. The first thing we use is a foot long gel band that is about 3 inches wide x 1/2 inch thick and wraps around the head with velcro. The second thing we have is a true "head mask". It covers the head from forehead down over the eyes like a long gel mask. All the gel items are kept in a drawer in the fridge so they are cold and we have several of them so there is always a cold one available once the one in use warms up. The third thing used is a device called "Cefaly". It's electrical stimulation of the forehead similar to a TENS unit. You can look it up under that name.

I have the same opinion of the spud dude. I bought one at a store when my daughter was in her tweens. She got all spazzy and excited over it, and since it was only a few bucks I bought to make her happy. She's now almost grown and still asks where spud dude is when she makes potatoes for herself. @@darlenedavis8690 the good with DT $1.25 brushes for washing fingernails is they have curved ends so fingers can be kept even straight. You're using the washing machine door prop wrong. Don't attach it where it interferes with the door, instead attach it to the machine beside the door, then bend the flexible part to stop the door closing. Then, when you want to use the machine, you don't need to remove it - just bend the flexible section out of the way.

That peach tool is beyond greased lightning when you actually have a ripe peach and it will bang out avacados as well. You'd be surprised how little of the US population understands that the fruit they get at the store isn't ripe _and may never actually ripen_ The tater brush is probably a lot easier to hold with the feet between your thumb and index, its for kids so likely is just about right. The pizza tool is also for french bread thus the serrate knife side and actually makes a surprisingly good tool for handling thin steaks on the grill and large garlic bread slices. It might actually be a better outside tool for cookouts, chopping roast veggies and the like.

That grocery bag storage is a waste…I saw a hack that perfectly fits the storage of the shopping bags perfectly and costs $0. Take an empty Kleenex tissue dispenser (old style long one not cube style) remove clear plastic cover…..just fold plastic bag length wise and stuff into box . Always handy and bags pull out and you can put the box in kitchen cabinet , out of the way and yet handy as getting a drinking glass , plus it’s out of sight and takes up way less room.

You forgot to say the storage container is UGLY! All those holes that allow it to bend also let the unsightly bags poke through. Ugh.
@ToniHinton
@ToniHinton 5 ай бұрын
@@lindas.8036 I have one like that that I got from Ikea years ago for about a dollar. The holes aren't intended just to allow it to bend, they allow you to stuff bags in and pull them out through them. Mine is mounted high on the wall in my pantry, high enough that we can't reach the top, so the holes are very useful.

We had a cloth bag sown into a sort of tube, opened both ends with elastic sown in. Just hang it from a convenient place, push the bags in through the top and pull one out from the bottom as you need them. Don't have it anymore because plastic shopping bags have been banned here now.

I love the sleep masks and have been using them for a long time now. Originally I purchased for the hospital since I've had 15 surgeries and more often than not have a long stay at the hospital. They are great for blocking out the lights when I need to rest and when nurses come into the rooms in the middle of the night to check on vitals. I use them at home nightly as well and so does my husband. Easy to wash too as it says handwash but I put them in a delicate laundry bag and toss them in the machine without issues.

That popsicle thing looks fun, but you could pretty easily just take a slice of watermelon like that, slice it like a pizza, and cut some of the white rind out to form the handle. You'd use the whole watermelon that way, and it would be just as fun.

We use Pringles cans to hold grocery bags. They don't hold too many but we strategically place them all over the house so we don't have to go far to find one. On another note, I think it could be fun if you reviewed some items from Daiso dollar store, based out of Japan. We always enjoy going there when we are in the DFW area.

I just want to put a shout out for those sleep masks... I have that set, but have since graduated to a nicer, weighted one with the glass beads in. If anyone out there is like me, and you tend to wake up with dry, red, crusty eyes, a satin or silk sleep mask could be a real game changer. Especially the ones with the concave eyeball cups like above. They keep you from smashing your eyes against the pillow when sleeping on your side. I wake up with my eyes like 75% normal.

Lol the funniest true thing I have ever heard you say: I dont know why I have so many bags, there's probably years worth of bags here. I have bags I brought up from San Diego to Washington eight years ago. They survived a flood due to a water leak under my sink but I figured they would dry out. They did but they stuck together but still, I kept them along with newer ones. Maybe I have a problem ...no, its pretty much for sure!

To pit a peach or nectarine, (and plums and apricots) all you need to do is take any normal food prep knife, cut around the equator of the fruit, twist, and the pit separates from one of the halves. Take the half with the pit and cut perpendicular to the seam, twist, and repeat until all the pieces are off. Works with free-stone and cling-stone fruit. This changed my life, and no special tools or gadgets needed.

I should make some popsicles for my friends new pup. Before he passed his older dog absolutely loved ice. I was on a bit of a scow cone kick so I brought my ice shaver over & made him his own unflavored snow cones. Max would eat an entire pile of just shaved ice. But maybe I'll cheat & use some pulverized canned dog food just to see if Peanut likes it first.

I got one of those 3d sleep masks, and it takes some adjusting to get it right if you are a stomach sleeper like me. I got one because I was convinced my regular mask usage was the cause of my eyelashes becoming practically nonexistent, and the 3d does keep it from rubbing my lashes. Nothing I've used to cut a pizza has proven more effective or easier to store than my Ulu knife. Joie makes some of the cutest kitchen accessories on the market, but not always the most effective or sturdy. I like the way you ranked them - I have several extremely effective kitchen gadgets that I just never bother to use because it's not worth the effort to dig them out/ wash them/ store them.
