This is so perfect for me. My kind of grocery store. I dont like talking to people at the groceries, as much as I hate hairdressers trying to make small conversations in the middle of my haircut. I just want them to cut my hair and leave me sitting there in peace and quietness. And this is the grocery that I like as well. Buy and go, no lines, no talking

Just FYI: their "pre-packaged" sushi is actually hand made as needed. they typically have a sushi chef there from open(7am) til about 6pm. It is quite good, and the fish is always fresh. The sushi guy that works at this location got poached from the whole foods down the road.

@@SnidgetAsphodel I can't help you if you don't think adding these types of systems don't take jobs away from people. I wonder how many employees are really there when there are not cameras rolling? Companies add machines like these to allow them to have less employees. If not, why add these expensive types of systems. Its common sense. I have no idea what you do for a living but if your company came out with a computer that did your job, do you really believe they want to keep paying you? Why? A computer will work 24 hours a day, never take a day off and will eventually pay for itself. At some point the computer will make it 100% profit from its work.

The only jobs that those smart carts might cost are a few cashier jobs at the store. It wouldn't really affect anyone else's there. But those things could easily save you 10 or 15 minutes at the store on a busy day and that's a big deal for anyone.

I actually work at that store and just to tell you we have a minimum 50-60 people working all the time 24/7. Those carts don't take away from cashier jobs at all since every single cashier aisle is full during the day, and they actually add jobs because the insane amount of restocking that happens while the store is actually open. I work the overnight shift and we do an insane amount of restocking even when the store is closed when there is no customers and Amazon Shoppers. Can't imagine what the day shifts are like when there are customers.

@@armybear2 I work day shifts, and honestly? We're always behind and needing more help, i've even seen our supervisors work with us on the floor because demand is so high! Everywhere is packed, i've helped out in three different sections of the store because theyve asked us for help. Alexa ia nice, but there are some things it can't help you with, and the other employees walking around are always happy to help you find what you're looking for! You can choose to have a very futuristic shopping experience ( there are barcodes on the price tags, if yoy scan them with your app you can see real time reviews i believe ? ) or ! If you'd rather not, you can walk around the store like any other ! ^^

Sometimes the cart doesn't recognize an item.. in that case you have to remove it and put it back in. I had that happen a couple times. I'm sure its not perfect yet :)

This is great, I love it! However with advanced technology such as this come advanced fraudsters who always find a way of paying for THEIR groceries using YOUR credit card. I’m not saying that it will happen, but it may happen. If they can hack government servers then hacking the Dash Cart would be like a walk in the park on a balmy Sunday. Overall I liked this video and I’ll visit the place very soon since it is close to me, I may even do some shopping to see how it feels. There are definitely more advantages than drawbacks, depending on how serious the drawbacks may be. We will have to wait and see.

When you go into the grocery store you grab any cart you can find, might have a bummed wheel that makes a terrible noise might be wet from the rain but hey thats grocery shopping. When you go to look for a random ingredients to make that dinner idea you've had all week, you dont ask a piece of technology where it is. You chase down that grumpy old lady with the glasses thats worked there for a decade and a half and ask and nine times out of ten no matter how random it is odds are she'll take you right to it. When you go grocery shopping you either use your brain and count the cost of it all in your head, or you shop with your stomach and just wing it! These things we do in life build our character as people. We may not think about it, but these are the moments in life that helped shape us to who we are today. It would be a damn shame to see it all go to waste bc Mr. Squirrelly Rich man Bazos needs another walnut for his tree hole.. Im js 💁🏻♀️

Long-term, automization will allow economies and whole populations shift from menial labor into more creative work such as services industry, commerce, tech, art, exchange, communication, etc...

Less selection than most if not all grocery stores, higher prices. the only benefit i see is that i allows express check out and congregates liberals which you can then easily spot.
