This actually works better for me than the original fix because it totally blocks out the Amazon launcher..which is great for my parents they don't get confused and end up lost trying to find the app they want. Thanks TDUK and the Wolf. I can use stock launcher to make any updates then put it back for them.

Well done TDUK and Sweenwolf, amazing work. I know from that chat group that some serious hours were put into sorting this out. I actually replaced my fire cube 2 with a shield pro after the last update which blocked the custom launcher because i became so annoyed at how Amazon was stopping me from doing what i want with my device. They are the Apple of the streaming world - we make you pay ££ for our devices but don't let you customize them. Sorry amazon, not good enough. If i pay for a device, it's mine. Let me do what i want with it.

Absoultly Brilliant bit of work. Have used your app to block updates. I prefer it to the old method. Previously always dropped out of the launcher when I closed Ipvanish and a couple of obscure aps OK now. PS my old OS5 fire stick has an old version of launcher hijack that is still working.

Looks like you have a FireOS5 device and for that, the custom launcher is still broken. Also, if you are trying to run ADB commands, you can't run them directly on your Fireos5 device, you have to do it from a remote Android device / PC

Use downloader on your device and browse to bit.ly/TDUKwallp . Download any wallpaper that you like and it will be saved in the Downloader folder. You can then see me accessing that in the video to change the wallpaper to something else.

TechDoctorUK - Great job. The Wolf Launcher works perfectly on my ver 6 firestick. However on my ver 5.2.7.8 fire TV it looks and works as it should, but when I try and watch a video it stops and returns to the Wolf Launcher main screen after a couple of minutes. It happens with Cinema and ustvgo on silk. I tried a factory reset with fresh installs on all apps. with the same results. It works fine without the Wolf Launcher. Thank your for hard work again! This new method is working well on Firestick 4K BUT NOT on 2nd gen Fire Cube. It's working when Amazon launcher is enabled, when you disable Amazon launcher you have black screen only some default apps text showing. Running Wolf launcher again you get tiles but they are unresponsive. Please look into it, I'm sure you will find solution! Thank you !

Did you install to USB? Both apps need to be installed to internal storage. Also do a full restart by holding play and select buttons together

TDUK and Sweenwolf - did this LAUNCHER install process just get blocked by amazon a second time? New FireOS *.4 version just came out and updated those who did not have the update blocked. Also really would be nice to find folks who will reinstall FireOS *.3 and ROOT the device with TWRP if you mailed the stick to them. Else I guess we all end up buying a used $30 TIVO4k stream devices and block updates on those.
